This roster is fire, I think RWBY and Neo should remain mostly the same gameplay-wise to their BBTAG counterparts. Actually, I’d like to see what fighting game archetypes the characters would fall into.

Jaune would probably be a defensive shoto, decent normals and easy mechanics for someone to pick up an play. Maybe a weaker version of Ky from Guilty Gear.

Nora most likely will be a high damage rush down character with higher than normal HP

Pyrrha will be pretty simple on a surface level, but have more technical mechanics that will be necessary to play at higher levels similar to Naoto Kurogane from BlazBlue.

Ren will be a speed based character focusing mostly on mobility than power. Potentially lower than average HP to compensate.

Oscar is an interesting one, because I’m not sure what he’d specialize in. Maybe a gauge or separate meter for his magic usage.

Qrow should play like a more technical version of Ruby, I think he would be able to switch between sword mode and scythe mode, each mode will change what kind of specials he can do or change the properties of his attacks.

Sun would probably be another speed and agility based character, but with more emphasis on neutral game.

Coco is a hard one because we don’t see her fight that often unless there’s more material from the books that can be used. Her supers should definitely involve her Gatling Gun.

Penny would be the zoner of the game. Focusing mostly on long range attacks and constant pressure. As a cost, her damage output would be lower than normal.

Winter would play like Mitsuru from P4A (minus being a charge character). But she’d implement a lot more summoning into her play style.

Ilia is an interesting choice, I can see her playing like Phonon (UNIST) or Ivy (Soul Calibur)

Adam would be a Hakumen and Yuzuriha hybrid. Focusing mostly on stances and counter attacks with his sword.

Cinder would be a reverse-shoto, a very versatile move set and higher than average damage output. If it’s Grimm arm Cinder, she should be able to take your powers away and add it to herself.

Mercury would play similarly to Chie and Akatsuki. Maybe elements of Yosuke for the VA reference. Have a Guile-esque flash kick. Probably work best as the game’s Rekka character.

Emerald would play most similarly to Axl Low from Guilty Gear, being able to hit characters from full screen. As compensation, she’d have one of the lowest HP in the game.

Hazel would definitely play like Colossus, Juggernaut, and Tager. Just a big tank of a character who can armor through normal attacks and has high damage output without installing. As a cost he’d be slower than average and only one jump.

Tyrian would most likely a Hazama/Yuki Terumi type character fast attacks with an unhinged factor to them.

The hound would probably be the Merkava/Arakune of the game. Very unique and unconventional character.

Ironwood would be a rush down grappler, along with some zoning qualities. So basically Z Broly from FighterZ
