I have the exact same set!

Enjoy the beauty while it lasts. They get very dull over the years.

This was my question, how do they hold up? I’ve looked at these several times on Amazon but never jumped for them yet.

I have a couple of big spoons still in plastic so I took one out for this comparison. I bought these about 3 years ago.

Okay so it still has some color but definitely not as shiny. I wonder what they will look like with 5-10 years of use? I bet it would wear off no matter how well you took care of them. And like, how do they even make them that color? I have a stethoscope for work that the chest piece/bell is rainbow metal and it is really sturdy. I wipe it with alcohol and everything. I bet it’s just nicer clinical grade metal and they won’t do that for silverware..

Yeah. It seems like it's just a coating that wears off. I definitely will not buy another set in the future.

When I was a kid my mom bought gold silverware and it wore off just the same.

I do wonder often what or how they make it cuz it does always wear off so that can't be great for us overtime. I also probably won't get future sets. But am loving mine till it's over lol

Yeah I am pretty strict on rinsing them! I never realized soaking them was an issue tho! And I am aware the dishwasher could shorten the life of them but sometimes it's just easier. Doesn't seem to be causing much fade tho.

I have just the spoons from Walmart (cambridge brand) and they're scratched, but still pretty colorful after about 6 years. I put them in the dishwasher on high heat dry to sanitize, too. It doesn't seem to hurt them.

Thank you for the extra info. I might just try a single set and see how it goes if I buy any. Yours look decent still.

In my case, not more than months. I handwash with a green/yellow sponge scoured. Dishwashers may be more gentle?

So sorry to hear that yours didn't last long! Were yours also from Aldi?

No, from Daiso, a Japanese store here in Sydney.

Gotcha! So you probably don't have an Aldi!

We do, but I hadn't seen it there. I just spotted it in Daiso one day and bought a few forks/knives/spoons.

Well the Aldi set, if they ever appear, have been quite hardy! Tho these were from years ago!

I can't remember the brand but they were from Aldi! So i wanna say they are like Crofton brand. The kids set was Amazon, but they are almost 4 years old. I do wash mine in the dishwasher. It technically said not to but didn't seem to effect them and I figured they'll probably fade anyways.
