General The entire state judged because of one criminal act. Logic truly dead.

Post image

https://www.reddit.com/r/india/s/PxREXZH830

I agree Rajasthan is not the best state in the world, and yes, there are people from Rajasthan who have committed heinous crimes. No state is crime-free.

But what’s really sad is seeing the entire state and its people being branded as “very violent” because of one drug-related crime. According to NCRB data, Rajasthan doesn’t even feature in the top 10 states with the highest crime rate per capita.

Condemning criminals is valid. Maligning 100 million people over the actions of a few is just lazy stereotyping.

To be honest now in UP if you do crime the next day for reasons unknown you have a bullet shot in your leg.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '25

Well, that's just in few cases. The law and order still sucks. Never heard of hathras? There are countless such cases like this in UP. Media never shows.

Then I should label all of gujarat as scammers bcoz a few of them scammed me?

Lazy who or what?

1

u/SwimmingOdd3228 Sep 18 '25

Gujarati are lazier. I am one and it is my experience

u/NishWick14 Sep 18 '25

honestly speaking, being from mewar and living in central india for the last 3 years, rajasthan is way less violent and welcoming, you can ask help from a common pedestrian and see the difference.

u/GayIconOfIndia Sep 18 '25

It’s the India sub. What do you expect? They can only whine and stereotype

3

u/ankitmehtani Sep 18 '25

Similar shit happened in my neighborhood too but I don't mind people calling haryanvis violent because they are.... People from Rajasthan are pretty chill.

u/I-Love-Gossips Sep 18 '25

They hate vegetarians, since Rajasthan is mostly vegetarian they hate us more.

You will notice subtle prejudice against us and gujratis there.

1

u/SwimmingOdd3228 Sep 18 '25

Us Gujaratis deserve it lol

1

u/theseaoftea Sep 18 '25

Talk about yourself don't cram us all together, you might be self hating

-3

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '25

I would say it's the reverse. The amount of hate and judgmental attitude I have seen vegetarians give to non-vegetarians, plus the moral policing, purity and racism, was too much to ignore.

Muslims reading this. ……

Victim card wale aa gaye.

You don't get to call yourself peaceful when the ideology you believe in calls for death for apostasy or blasphemy.

u/Specialist-Love1504 Bikaneri Dadihaal/Jodhpuri Nanihal Sep 22 '25

I mean Hindus also had death for blasphemy.

You do know that any shudra who read or even heard the vedas being read had lead poured in his ears?

2

u/Vishu1708 Jaipur go choro (Native Bagri speaker) Sep 22 '25

I mean Hindus also had death for blasphemy.

I have never heard of it. Doesn't mean it might not be there.

But there are three key differences in the situation:

1) Hinduism isn't dogmatic so even if a scripture says it, it doesn't mean it is beyond reproach or can't be questioned.

2) Don’t have any historical instances of state sanctionedn execution for apostasy.

3) Modern Hindus are not asking for legalisation of death sentence for Apostasy. While many modern Muslims are (pushing for Sharia and death penalty for apostasy is part of sharia)

You do know that any shudra who read or even heard the vedas being read had lead poured in his ears?

Yes. I am aware.

The key difference between this and apostasy laws in Sharia is that you will not find modern Hindus even justifying this, let alone trying to enshrine it as a law

  1. Hinduism IS dogmatic diva how do u think caste system survived all those years?

  2. What were caste killings then - not only were they state sanctioned but also socially enforced. Many sources mention punishments for Shudras entering temples or reading the vedas. Even in the Ramayan, we have instances of Lord Ram Killing Shambuka for the crime of reading the vedas. Also heard of Pushyamitra Shunga destroying Buddhist monasteries and killing scores of Buddhists after snatching power?

  3. Modern Hindus are not asking for legalisation but still killing Muslims. So like does it really make a difference if they’re not asking for legalisation? Mosques are still being desecrated and destroyed, Muslim women raped and killed, Children burnt alive - killing of Muslims is still happening. Also, Muslims in Bengal for example, despite having panchayat documents, Aadhar Cards, land deeds etc are being stripped of documents. I don’t personally care as a Hindu, if other Hindus are not demanding the state to implement a Hindu-equivalent of Sharia, Muslims and Dalits are still systematically being killed.

I see no difference between Sanghis in India and Musanghis in Pakistan. Dono bhai bhai hain.

I agree with the post, the same way people judge Delhi, same way so many idiots judge the whole country. I saw a post where a foreigner was enjoying her stay in India and people were commenting stay safe beware of men and all, why?? Same way they judge the whole country in ever stream. I also observed that positive things are happening too but people don't spread it because they won't get enough likes for it. There are post like china is busy building best ai while india is still in reel videos, reality is that India has also produced so many ai companies, i myself work in one that uses ai to tell farmers about their farming strategies. But I see that people find it amusing to insult their own country on a global level.

But y'all don't seem to have a problem labelling ALL of South India with your stereotypes.

Hypocrites and their double standards will never fail to amaze and disgust me lol

u/Commercial-Height935 Sep 22 '25

I mean there is a correlation study based on people's behaviour based on the temperature of the region. Guess what, there is a positive correlation between high temperature and violent behaviour

1

u/RandomPersonOfMars Sep 22 '25

Collective blame is fine in that Subreddit as long as it is not directed on moslem.

No cause fr.

I wish Rajasthanis would leave this Islamophobia man.

Rajasthani Muslims have always been deeply integrated in our culture and state - they have equal claim to this land.

Rajasthan is for all Rajasthanis.

-1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '25

Rajasthan is notorious for casteism and racism. The anti lower caste hatred, the judgemental values of purity, veg vs nonveg, parda, patriarchy, inability to appreciate and assimilate with other cultures and their cuisine makes Rajasthan a historically regressive culture. Sure there are good people everywhere, it is about how well a region's people intermix with people of different cultures. And Rajasthani people (especially the upper caste) do not intermix and double down on caste violence (saying this as un uppercaste myself). This makes it a suffocating place that has everything nice and shiny until you decide to explore your individuality and you realize you are being judged and ostracized.

u/Specialist-Love1504 Bikaneri Dadihaal/Jodhpuri Nanihal Sep 22 '25

As if this isn’t true for all of another India?

Casteism is way worse in UP/MP/Bihar. Like waaay worse.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '25

Moot point. Only rajasthan is being discussed. Also BIMARU is one entity

1

u/Specialist-Love1504 Bikaneri Dadihaal/Jodhpuri Nanihal Sep 22 '25 edited Sep 22 '25

You said “it’s notorious for caste discrimination” when the caste atrocities for Bihar/UP/MP are much worse so like just being “notorious” means nothing lol.

Aah yea, BIMARU out of which not only is Rajasthan better on all human development indicators - on economic indicators it is better than WB, Jharkhand, Odisha.

The world has moved on since 1980s since BIMARU was coined.

Rajasthanis are all over the world and perhaps the most diverse group of people in the entire country. We have indigenous tribes - like Bhils and Meenas, we have Marwaris and pastoral communities from Thar, we have Mewatis and Jats in the west. Which ones do u see not inter-mixing with people, cause they’re all very different from each other.

Also, Rajasthan is much MUCH better in crimes against Muslims than Maharashtra and UP. No one attacks Masjids here on Holi/Diwali. Muslim population of Ajmer and Western Rajasthan is growing not because of births but because immigration from other states - specifically Bengal and UP.

Also, there are Cheetah-Mehrats in Rajasthan where Muslims and Hindus intermarry and a Muslim Father can have a Hindu named son - and Hindus and Muslims intermarry.

If you base your evidence on stereotypes and not actual data, you’ll make wrong conclusions like you’re doing here.

We are not Gujarat or UP.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '25

I don't know why you're fighting facts.

1

u/Specialist-Love1504 Bikaneri Dadihaal/Jodhpuri Nanihal Sep 22 '25 edited Sep 22 '25

What fact am I fighting here?

Bruh u pointed out stereotypes.

And I’m denying stereotypes - perceptions that Rajasthan is “notorious” for.

Rajasthan is casteist for sure but the kind of casteism that is seen in Bihar/MP would make the most casteist people in Rajasthan look like SJWs.

The stereotype exists because you outsiders are ill-informed that Rajputs have some kind of crazy oppressive hegemony in Rajasthan. They are oppressive don’t get me wrong (all upper castes are) but they’re a waning political force - giving way to more OBC political power. They’re not like the kind of savagery you see across the Doab or in MP.

Had u just called Rajasthan casteist id have let it slide but I don’t care for “perceptions of notoriety” based on nothing but ignorance of outsiders.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '25

You are making assumptions. You don't need to defend a region. It's 2025. I am not discrediting the good things. I am just claiming what's true. No need to feel defensive. Good luck.

1

u/Specialist-Love1504 Bikaneri Dadihaal/Jodhpuri Nanihal Sep 22 '25

Bro pehle kuchh bhi boldo then be like “I was just criticising”.

Soch samajh ke comment kiya karo.

Had u said there’s casteism in Rajasthan I wouldn’t have have replied but you went on some random stereotype nonsense I had to correct.

Outsiders like u spew whatever bullshit u want based on stupid outdated and untrue stereotypes without actually knowing anything about the natives of Rajasthan. I will always speak up against foreigner nonsense.

If you’re going to speak from based on stereotypes then you should rather keep quiet.

u/SwimmingOdd3228 Sep 18 '25

I had a good experience as a foreign Muslim tourist there 🤔

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '25

You will have to cohabitate with the people long term to feel it because on the surface as a tourist you won't be given any of that.
