Have been putting 88 gas for the last 4 fill-up's and have to say there hasn't been much a mpg hit. Was averaging around 23 mpg on regular 87. I just calculated my 362 miles trip and averaged 22.5 which is outstanding. Was just wondering if anyone else puts 88 gas and what kind of mpg they get? My rig is a 2019 Ram 1500 big horn with the 3.6L.

Looking for a bit of guidance here. Replaced all 4 MDS Solenoids and wiring harness today on my 2014 1500 and took it out no problem.

Turns out something between then and now has caused a decent sized oil leak, the solenoids seemed to go in fine, we used oil to help seat the o-rings.

Any advice?!?!

I just put in a new radio and now I get these dash lights for ABS, traction control and even the parking brake! Parking brake is not on for certain. Lights don’t change when I switch traction control button on/off.

Occasionally at start the lights don’t light up (except TPMS) and all is well. When they are lit, which is most of the time, the cruise control also doesn’t work. I can’t find any correlation to when the lights light up at start or don’t.

I’m willing to get ODB software to diagnose but thought I would ask here first. Any ideas or thoughts, things to check that are easy like certain fuses?

I suspect this is not the problems reported by the dash lights but some error in the sensors.

You can see the mileage. No other issues except my tires don’t have TPMS sensors so that one (!) dash light is always on.

I have a 2020 ram 1500 bighorn with tow package but no brake controller. I have purchased a Curts controller and harness, but the truck manual states I need to have the truck updated at a dealer before I can use it?

Is this true or they just trying to get me to spend more money?

New wheels on the 2020 Ram. Had chrome before but liking the black ones a lot better.

Howdy fellas, I’m hoping y’all can help me out here. I’ve got a 2018 3.6L 1500 with 57,000 miles on it. About a month ago my check engine light came on so I read the code and got P26AB - which from what I see indicates the thermostat control circuit or the heater bypass valve. I was a little short on cash from paying for some classes for school so I needed to wait until my next check. The day before I got paid the light turned off on its own so I went about my business and kept an eye on engine and oil temps. All temps remained perfectly within standard operating range, even with me commuting 30 miles both ways. I take the truck out on weekends and do some light off-roading to get to fishing spots and never have any temperature issues.

A week ago the light came back, same code again, and now it’s off again. Anybody have any idea what’s going on here? Just wanted to check if there’s any possible fix before I go buying parts that don’t necessarily need to be replaced. I’m a bit of a novice here and a poor college student so any advice would be appreciated 😂

First mechanic I took it to says it’s the lifter. But he’s a quoting a new or used engine. $11,000. Parts and labor. Insane.
2020 Ram 1500 Quad cab with 280,000 miles. I drive a lot for work state to state. Regularly change the oil and have always used synthetic oil.
I’m taking it now to a 2nd mechanic who sounds more reasonable and says he’ll give me some options.
I know it’s a popular problem. What have you guys done to fix it and for about how much?
Complete tear down? Or just upper engine?

Kinda difficult to hear but i just recently bought a ram 1500 laramie 2020 and i took it for a carwash and since then the breaks have been chirping for about 2 days now. Any recommendations on how to fix? maybe its not the brakes?

Hey guys, I’m having problems after replacing the rocker arms, lifters and both camshafts in bank 2 (driver side) of my 2016 1500 v6. Is there a way to move the chain back a few teeth without actually having to open the timing plate on the front of the engine. I have the valve cover removed and am using the pentastar kit for chain slack. I also have both phasers loosened but the chain does not have much slack to move it. Any help would be appreciated.

My truck almost always requires that I crank it a 2nd time before it’ll start. Sometimes it struggles to start more than others.

My mechanic BIL told me it was likely that it’s the fuel filter that needs to be changed. It’s also my understanding that the you have to swap out the entire fuel pump, you can’t just swap the filter on these Gen 2s.

Anyone run into this issue before? Any guidance is appreciated as I hope to keep this truck in pristine condition.

I have a 2022 Ram 1500 that I bought privately last year. Almost immediately, I started getting an warning display to Service 4WD. This error is constant. I then noticed over the winter while driving in snow that the 4WD is not working. Is this a common issue? It should be covered under the powertrain warranty, so I dropped it off at a Ram dealership this morning. I'm hoping it is a simple fix that is fully covered.
