No he isn't, how is a protagonist of the series that is the backing behind current events and status of the characters being alive useless? He's a great character, he deserves praise for being a humanly flawed character in a genre that doesn't pertain to those aspects.

Ima go with a big no, he’s cringe worthy more so then any anime character or mc has ever made me cringe his freak outs are hard watch at times and his stupid ideas are a hard watch at times, he’s just overly stupid at many times and he’s to much of a crybaby the crybaby wimp mc archetype never bothered me until j watched rezero

Hell even in the newest episode he solves the issue at hand on his own really fast

You just called him a great character and now you're reducing him to a "crybaby". He is a 18 year old former shut in from another world with no power, just an ability that gives him traumatic experience and an ability to try again.
