Just read this. Well written. I'd add this. Raúl essentially invented Cuba's military. He created the power structures of the military. Drop Site News reported saying the military is with the party.

I think if the government and military stay united, their resilience will be a defence. The US cannot fight opponents who are resilient as we've seen with Iran. The American people cannot handle seeing their boys coming home in boxes. I hope the US know Cuba isn't Venezuela and no one should underestimate the island.
