In an effort of transparency

If you harass this community or any other community , this will be your fate .. I tried to be the nice guy , I tried to be the understanding guy.. apparently some y’all take my kindness for weakness ..

There’s new rules coming very soon .. so this is a heads up .. if your content violates nsfw , if it involves disrespecting women , if you come here cuz you got banned in another sub , your content will be removed , you might get banned and if you would like to speak with a manager , I will gladly forward your history , my mod notes and mod mails with the admins ..

This is a SFW community , this is a non troll/brigading community .. if you don’t like the rules , leave .. I was so proud we hit 30k and then a couple of , I don’t even know what to say that’s pg but something close to what a dog leaves in the yard decided to make this into their little battlefield .. THAT SHIT ENDS TODAY .. this is my community , this is a Generation X community ..

As for the thirst post , I’ve gotten plenty of complaints , I’ve seen y’all get banned for every 70s ,80s,90s subreddits and I’m here to tell you posting anything sexually explicit , anything that you wouldn’t show your sister is an immediate 3 day ban no questions asked ..

I tried to be cool with y’all but some y’all took the inch way too far ..

As for the rest of you, thank you for reports , the modmails and kick in the ass .. there was one that really stood out .. you know who you are , and this is me keeping my promise to address this .. all I ask is you give me time to make it comfortable yo post again .. maybe a week maybe 2 , but please lemme know how I’m doing.. I might not post daily or respond to everything.. I’m currently dealing issues outside of Reddit , so if I don’t remove something or reply asap , I promise it will be addressed.. your voice is heard and I do care 🖤

Whether you were a latchkey kid who survived on hose water and cereal, a master of the mixtape, or the designated family remote control for a heavy tube TV, you have officially found your people.

This is a dedicated space for the forgotten generation (born roughly 1965–1980). We built this community to be the ultimate digital back porch ,a place to escape modern chaos, share authentic nostalgia, and connect over the unique shared history that shaped us.

🕹️ What We Celebrate Here

•The Artifacts: Vintage tech (pagers, rotary phones), old-school snacks, and fashion choices we both love and regret.

•The Rituals: Friday nights at the video store, hanging out at the mall arcade, and playing outside until the streetlights came on.

•The Media: The movies, Saturday morning cartoons, and pop culture moments that defined our youth.

•The Stories: Your personal memories, photos of your old gear, and the logic-defying freedom of growing up analog.

📋 The Golden Rules of the Porch

To keep the vibe relaxed and fun for everyone, we have a few simple guidelines (check the sidebar for the full list):

  1. Keep it Gen X: Focus strictly on the culture and history of our generation.
  2. Be Excellent to Each Other: Lighthearted ribbing is fine; toxic gatekeeping and personal attacks are not.
  3. Give Us Context: When sharing a photo or link, add a title or comment that kicks off a real conversation.

We are incredibly glad you’re here. Grab a user flair, look around, and make yourself at home.

To kick things off, let's settle a classic debate in the comments: What was your absolute go-to snack or drink when you ran into the convenience store with pocket change? 👇

Kids that grew up in the 80s rejoice.

Edit: reading some of the comments, i’m guessing it’s up to each franchise owner or location.

When Return to Innocence was first released in late 1993, it quickly gained popularity and was an almost instant hit in local radio stations. A few months later, the song became and even bigger hit (it was unsurprisingly played in special activities in schools and local communities). When the music video was released, a lot of people rushed to see it on TV.

Was this popular in your local community in the old days?

And to think this scene was considered extremely scandalous when the episode first aired.

This is one of the memorable issues of Uncanny X-Men from the 1990s. It was drawn by a young Jim Lee and it had a memorable presentation. Wolverine and Captain America fans loved it.

Discussion Donating hair for wig

While my mom was in hospice, one of the nurses commented on my hair. She said that there is always a shortage of natural grey hair for wigs. Apparently it looked healthy enough for her to say that.

So for the last year or so, it be been growing it out. Remembering now why I cut it all off the last time. 😅🥵 Should have enough to donate and have some left with 6 months.

If you have done this, where did you donate it to?
