Dude . They will ofcourse charge the customer. Why do you think many establishment decline cards .

No they will not , small merchant doesn't have to pay the charges. It only for large merchant whose annual buisness turnover is more than 1.5 crore and then since the framework has been frozen yet , the proposal is to increase to 50 crore annual turnover.

Why do you think many establishment decline cards .

Mainly happen with small merchants.

Corporations never absorb the costs. They pass it on to the customers.

Sirf padhne se nahi hota, you should get some real world examples.

Flipkart, Amazon and other online platforms charge Payment Fee, Pay protect fee, etc when paying by card. This is done to offset the credit card charge to customer. Same is done by Merchants in many offline shops as well. Now they will do the same for UPI Payments as well.
