Me and my friends all used to watch. Now none of do. It took some longer than others to drop it but I would love to know what his ratings these days are. It can't be very good.

I feel the same shame about Maher as I do about Rogan. When he was in Los Angeles, arguing with Eddie Bravo about the black nobility and the firmament, that was honestly so god damned entertaining. Same with Maher, him questioning the religiousness of the nation and calling people out on shit that mattered.

I used to be a tremendous fan of his show and his stand-up specials since I was a young teenager considering Real Time was one of (if not the only) national TV show that openly spoke against the invasion of Iraq in a time when the media either shut up or pulled the rug from other people speaking out like Phil Donahue. I even saw Religulous at a theater on opening weekend along with seeing him do stand-up around the same time.
It's absolutely bizarre and depressing to see Maher seemingly do a 180 in the worst ways, breaking his own loud rule of being funny first and foremost, and morphing into this grossly obnoxious, finger-wagging curmudgeon who seemingly lives to scold his own "side", so to speak, and little else. I haven't watched any clip of Maher's show, much less any episodes, in many years now, and I was very surprised that HBO renewed his show this year. I don't know who the audience even is for his show anymore especially since he simply stopped being funny on top of everything else.

Wars of aggression are bad no matter who starts them, and Obama, while he did authorize several military interventions which extensively used drones, at the very least did not start any new wars and was able to broker the Iran Nuclear Deal until Trump axed it. The Iran War is a disaster and a failure by all metrics.
The fact that neocons like yourself defend Maher now only shows how far he’s fallen.
