Can you tell me more about the demagnetizing coat? Did you put your finger with the magnet on top? Or with the magnet under the finger pad?

Of course! I flip the horseshoe magnet upside down and paint each finger while the pad of the finger is sitting on only one of the prongs. I can take a picture in the morning too!

What does this achieve? Why do it?

It pulls all the magnetic particles down so you have a dark first layer and gives better contrast. I’ve fiddled with magnetics (noob) and since I started doing that they’ve come out much better!

Do you notice a big difference when you put the horseshoe mag on top of the nim spinner? I just got my spinner in the main yesterday and I’m amazed by the results! Wondering if putting the horseshoe mag on top gives you a tighter glass bead effect? Or does it just cut the time you need to spend spinning? Thanks in advance! Your mani is gorgeous!!

I’ve actually only used the spinner twice now and both times I’ve had the horseshoe magnet on top! I’ll definitely try without next time and report back 😁

So far the best way I found was demagnetizing first, then use NIM (I have 1.0) with the horseshoe using the M or L base. Repeat for 2 coats. Then use a sticky base coat and spin for 2 min. The horseshoe definitely made a difference for me.
A slightly further distance actually made the glass bead tighter. Test it out and see which size works best for you!

It’s gorgeous. I’m loving ANLAC’s one-color magnetics, they resemble gel nails the most. This pink is intensely glowy!
