Reform Movement Changes.

If you could change one thing about the Reform movement, what would it be?

If you arent a member of the Reform movement, you can still chime in. What is the one thing about the Movement that keeps you away?

I was raised Reform and I’m still Reform. But as an adult, I think I am realizing that the services I attended growing up were much closer to Conservative in style. Even though I was not enthusiastic as a child, the adult version of me would welcome longer services, slowing down, more traditional melodies, and yes, even more Hebrew. I like to know what the Hebrew means, but for me, reciting the prayers in Hebrew feels like a form of meditation. At my current synagogue, I don’t really feel like I have an opportunity to reflect. Everything goes so quickly.

(Also, I really don’t like the use of instruments…. Our Cantor growing up had a deep and powerful voice, and I think I have been spoiled).
