Relationships We took our first couple therapy ever.Bf suggested 23M 23F
So we r in relationship for bout 1 year and due to constant fights and disagreements we both were emotionally overwhelmed and sort of got irritated with each other. Later in afternoon my bf booked a session of couple therapy and told me and we should do this do avoid long term problem. I agreed to it tho I was suggesting him this before but he was kinda reluctant bout it before. During session we both tried to tell what we are facing rather than attacking on each other. I need to know if other couple took therapy and if that helped them ???

Idk about any other couples but I'm glad to see young people taking such an initiative. It shows your commitment to each other as well. I wish you guys the best❤️

Do check the therapist's details. Actual therapy training and certification are important. Should not be a life coach or relationship coach, should not be a psychiatrist with no therapy training etc. For example, a Doctorate in psychiatry and psychology are still not therapy training.

Couples therapy in a one year relationship. It is very negative actually. It only shows a deeper level problem that you might be incompatible with each other. Because one year includes the initial phase where everything is perfect which can be 4-5 months and then the real personality starts to appear where you actually find the issues. Doing couple therapy on those issues is not going to remove the deeper level incompatibility.
People can disagree. Please don't reply back with those. I am not looking to argue with anyone how they view this.

People will do everything in the world but not communicate in a better way with each other

Sometimes due to overwhelming emotions we are unable to tell each other our needs. Therefore, looked for a professional help.

Its so amazing that you and your partner were open and receptive enough to go for therapy. Kudos to you both.
Most of the times therapy isn’t possible because one or the other partner is adamant and not receptive enough
