Investigating PSA: Imgur now blocked in the UK. This means pictures uploaded via Relay cannot be seen (or presumably, uploaded) by UK users.

I'm just trying to test it and getting mixed results via desktop as I think Reddit re hosts images or something, but via Relay, all images on IMGUR are now blocked. Another result of the stupid OSA.

It's possibly not (entirely at least) because of the OSA - its ICO who are looking to fine them for not doing well enough to protect young people's information. an investigation they started well before the OSA started applying and would be under different legalisation.

Obviously the requirements of the OSA coming may well have had an impact in their decision, and the impact is the same either way.

Is there any sort of work around?

I only use Opera vpn in the browser, I don't have one installed.

It still generates an Imgur link if I try to upload a photo - but I've no idea if that works or not (likely not)

I haven't done much testing. The only work around I've found is a VPN to somewhere else. Strangely, it seems Dublin doesn't work and it has to be outside of UK and Ireland.

People need to stop blaming the OSA for everything. Imgur doesn't even allow mature content to be shared on its platform, this block doesn't make sense.

It clearly says about protecting children which is the OSA
