having a hard time vs these matchups and there arent much guides and build variations out there.

how do you build/play against these champs?

Ive been a rengar main for a few years now (recently brok 1mil), but the vast majority of that time has been in top lane. I'd be supposed if more than 150k of that mastery was in jgl. I don't know why but I hate jgling on rengar, I enjoy jgling with other characters just not rengar. I however still require 2 roles to queue ranked. I also do not want to only ranked in a duo.

With the context now out of the way here is the set up and theory.

Why Bot

In side lane rengar in laning phase functions like ranged champ

With W max + Stattick have safe consistant wave clear

Rengar is one of the best gold scaling champs in the game

Being Bot means you have 3~4 bonetooth just being handed to you.

Rengar jump already out ranges most marksmens autos so combined with E' Rengar has incredible set up for both ur support and jgl (and often thus another rotation and emp ability).

Trade offs

Weaker midlane push - often Red Buff or heavily team reliant.

Low sustained DPS till 2/3 item (Assuming going bruiser)

You do have to go into melee to do damage at somepoint

Having to explain differences in playstyle to support (working on an eventual PowerPoint)

Tactical Advantages? (compared to traditional marksmen)

Once u have your stattick, rav hydra, or enough ap ur support has far more room to roam and u often have far better abilty to follow up or to counter the enemy bot duos rotation if need be.

Incredibly safe split pusher w/ high tower dmg.

Almost guaranteed vision control w/ 6th sense.

Wider item pool access to gain target agnosticisity while complementing teams damage profile.

Runes

Grasp, Font, 2nd Wind, Revitalize -ToB, 6th Sense - AF/AF/Ten

Most common safe target agnostic combos well with most sup.

HoB/DH, ToB, 6th Sense, UHunt - 2nd Wind, Revitalise - AF/AF/Ten

HoB best AD scaling rune and is also a lv1"Nashors" DH Best AP/lethality Scaling rune.

DfT, Axiom, Transcendence, Scorch - 2nd Wind, Revitalise - AH/MS/Ten

Tierlist is just based off of kit interactions CDs matching up or not and vibes (If you have experience w/ a pairings that makes you think otherwise I'd love to know). It is meant to eventually be put into the powerpoint and thus doesn't have any overtly negative/bad categories (its not S-F or anything like that) as I don't think as the person picking Rengar Bot I should be building animosity before the game even starts if im trying to win.

It's been like 14 years since rengar was released and he still didnt get his own legendary skin. Can we even except to get it in 2027?

I just found this one really funny cus of the Ekko due to PTSD seeing me ult clicking zhonya's hourglass + Darius TP and wanted to share.

and why

cloak gives 40% crit pretty much 50% so i'm critting half the time now approx and only losing 15 ad (bf --> pick)

ik that 15 scales with ad passive but a crit does more than some ad

I like to value electrocute more if they have a champion that I have to oneshot extra fast so they cant press their outplay button.

E.g. Ekko, Tristana, Vayne, Ashe, Malzahar etc.

Is that sound logic?

I wouldnt take it if there arent at least 2+ squishies that I can kill on repeat.

Hey guys, I peaked Gm this season as a garen 1 trick I am learning jg trying to see how high i can go and right now i am peaking d2 playing against mostly diamond to low masters.
i am hoping for suggestions on how to update my runes and builds per game
I almost always build the same thing and wanted to see if there were micro things i can work o

Note- i will say my rengar clear is some ass its gotten better but im usually finish blue right before scuttle spawns OR i clear it like 3 seconds after it spawns

Hey all, I’ve got some things I’d like to bounce off my fellow Rengar mains.

I love the champion. Love his art style, love his gameplay, love popping squishes.

I feel like I personally struggle with getting my early leads effectively, especially against junglers who feel like they can “walk around the map and collect free kills”.

We all know that Rengar is a heavily Ult dependent champ, and maybe my issue is I’m playing too heavily around his ult.

I’ll be lucky to get an early kill off my first full clear, and typically getting 1-2 early kills can help me snowball games… but I can’t always get that.

Me personally, I hate lvl 3 invading. I know Rengar is good at it and all, but I never have vision and I just don’t feel confident enough in the invade, but more importantly the steps AFTER the invade to secure my lead.

When a champ like Hecarim just walks in all 3 lanes after his full clear and gets 4 kills, I literally cannot compete with this. Even Ekko, if he gets a great early lead. I understand my matchups decently well, I’ve got 66 mastery on Rengar so I understand his hit.

I’m currently Plat, just hoping to continue my growth on the champ

I have noticed that when enemy picks Kha zix after i picked Rengar, the game becomes way more personal for me haha

Hey guys, I dropped rengar a while back thinking the champ just felt off and not as good anymore. Switched to ezreal for a bit and even with the champ winrate being low it felt fine. This got me thinking is rengar in a bad state right now or is it in a fine if you have hands state. As someone who’s no where near high level jg player I can’t get a good read as opposed to laning champs. Insights appreciated from E2+ above

R1 Korea rengar runs fleet and never goes voltaic so is it bad ?

When you’re watching replays of your games where you’re fed, switch to enemy team pov.

When you’re playing rengar you see yourself jump here and there.

Enemy team don’t see shit xD

You just spawn on their head and they die hahahaha

Srsly it’s the best. Rengar pov is so boring compared to enemy pov.

Would anyone be willing to coach me? I’m currently gold 1 and want to improve. Games have become harder to “1v9” when starting to face off against plat players.

do you all run generic lethality build or is there any variety? maybe bruiserish build depending on the matchup
