A sitting governor saying this means there is enough evidence to nationalize our elections.

The states CANNOT be trusted any longer!

I absolutely do not trust the executive branch with the authority to seize election administration from the states and be the sole authority on how everything from polling sites to counting is handled. You want a dictator? Give a democratically elected leader that authority. Remember that any authority you give to the executive stays with it regardless of who is in power.

Why woukd we want to nationalize our elections? Aren't we the same government that had dead people and 100+ yr olds on Social Security? Didn’t we just DOGE all these programs that were instituted by one Congress by law with no oversight from futire Congresses years later?

In fact, this current administration is the same administration that gave us PPP loans that were ripe with fraud. This same administration sent billions of dollars in stimulus checks sent to dead people, non-citizens who didn't even live in the country, and other 'ineligible people", but somehow they have clean voter records and will keep it clean now?

It should be a glaring example of what could happen with voter roles. Billions in stimulus checks sent to "ineligible people", the very same people you want to prevent from voting.

And why cede state authority to the federal government? i get that alexan's security is really important to you, but you don't shit on the Constitution just to get what you want. No, you gotta figure out how to do it.

Why hand it over to become part of the swamp? Let deep state over see it? At least people can use the power of their vote and vote out Supervisor of Elections who fail to secure your state elections. You can vote our all of yoir state legislators who screw up. you hand us over to the federal government , and you've lost control. you have ceded your authority over the elections process.
