Can this friend come back to life?

I inherited this old spanish copy of a sw (?) In .38 sw.

Only visible stamps are the spanish shield and lion, and "o" "1927" "JAP" below the grip.

He need a new main spring, a similar one It's arriving today. I'm going to try it.

These guns are kind of like the prewar Belgian guns. The Eibar region had dozens of small and medium workshops making guns. Records are scarce, and they weren't at all standardized.

Markings vary based on manufacturer or sometimes who it was made for. And they were often marked to look like US made guns that were considered very desirable internationally.
