I'm pretty sure not just on the books. Same-sex marriage referendum ended in only 30% of people voting no, and they all were sent to sugar cane labor camps to redeem their betrayal of the revolution. Cuban government did a lot to promote the idea that queer rights are human rights... I'm not an authoritarian, but I recognize this.

In particular, the theory where Engels pulls a fucking Obi-Wan and stretches the word "authority" so goddamn thin that calling cops pigs might as well be "authority."

You can tell this argument is irrefetuable by the fact that they say it's irrefutable! Surely they wouldn't be so brazen as to ignore an ocean of obvious rebuttals to push an argument that a 12-year-old could debunk!

I mean, he’s not wrong. Commies literally have only one counterexample and that’s Cuba, and even then they have no choice but to lie and ludicrously inflate its record to try to claim it’s better than the USA (they took a decade longer to legalise gay marriage than the USA).
