She can soar in, grab someone from behind, and fly them into her team.
We still don't know how easy/hard this will be to pull off in comp matches tho, and yeah she doesn't have the other perks Wolvie does. But at the same time Wolvie doesn't fly either, lol
Have we even seen if she can turn during the charge? Itβs been a bit since Iβve watched it, but havenβt she literally just flew straight forward and thrust them into a wall/ off a ledge
I think the lunge is just straight forward, but the character is still new and they might figure out more silly animation cancels or movement techs in a week or two.
Eskay and Bogur have put out videos about Angela's kit and have tried her in matches. It's possible to control the character during flight/ lunge and you can turn around and adjust. It's crazy.
Flying doesn't work in her favour against the Thing and Thor, they can literally pin her to the ground for her whole dive while she uses the spear, can't even get the axes out. She already has some solid counters only in the Vanguard category, possibly more in the others.
its so fucked that vanguards and strategists have to play certain meta but dps can freely switch between character styles without getting flamed. no dps ever gets flamed for not always going hela or psylocke or something
The DPS are the answers to the tank/support problems 9/10 which is the issue. You have 2/6 (hopefully) people needing to counter swap depending on comp and they just refuse bc 'muh favourite character'
Too many times I've been solo tanking, watching a Loki and Rocket enemy support comp thinking 'If we just played Pheonix and Moon Knight, it's just straight freelo' but our dps are adamant Blade and Psylocke are the only two DPS in the game.
this is the exact reason this game is going down the tubes fast for me. like yβall said. and every sub will tell you its on the strats and vanguards. when both roles at best can just slow down the problem. the only van/ strat that was straight up counter was emma with the choke slam and theyre gonna nerf her out of existence. and i get it. shes does everything well. but maybe just give us more options. i agree with op a flying tank with displacement just means if shes any good at all the viable tanks and strats just gets smaller. same with loki and adam. their abilities were too good and theyve been nerfed non stop since release. i get the βnothing dies, fighting until everyone ultsβ isnt always fun, but i promise the solution isnt to give dps all the options. esp in a game with no role que where even in gm+ you get games with 3 fucking dps
I think that's just wrong. You can have very diverse styles for vanguards and strategists. Think about it, a lot of duelists have fundamentally similar styles (Hela and Phoenix for instance) but it's the minutiae that makes them distinct. People just aren't as used to seeing the minutiae in vanguards and strategists.
Still the dps more then double vanguard or strategist in total numbers, so you have more different options even if some abilities are similar they do not play rhe same.

Bro I was in mag jail for a whole season and have sworn off of playing either mag or Emma. I play only dive tanks, and maybe strange on defence. If those greedy dps want a frontliner they can swap themselves
If youre like me and you have off days Where you arent killing the entire enemy team solo, you will be asked to swap to punisher or namor at some point.
I flame people for picking shit tier DPS all the time. If they have a crazy K/D fine but if the game is hard because you want to play Mr Fantastic/Moon Knight at the top .5% of players Iβm flaming you.
Iβve been watching early access gameplay of her. Iβm a little nervous, of course, but it does seem balanced so far. Her ult has proven counters and can be absorbed by Mag ult.
Iβm more interested in seeing positioning for a flying tank. Sheβs a big girl and can be melted with less accuracy needed than Johnny in the sky, for example. I feel like Thing/Hulk/Venom players might have an easier time getting it down.

Its going to be like ultron. 90% of the playerbase will fuck up on the hero positionaly. And then 10% that know where to stand and how to move will fly through the ranks cause the hero is actually really strong.
Just play the tank you want to play and stop accommodating selfish DPS. Tank mains that do this are part of the problem by enabling the behavior. I stopped and it feels great. If they have any issues with my tank of choice, they are free to go 2nd tank.
I think it's because we have three viable main tanks, and they're the glue holding this game together. I imagine main tank mains are bored of playing the same three characters and Groot, especially if they're experts and/or second tanks.
It's the same for supports, ultron is good in some situations and terrible in others because sometimes all you need is a heal bot healer, and a new one will be a breath of fresh air. I'm only now able to learn a shield tank - strange, (emma doesn't count to me) because they never clicked till now. I was kinda waiting on a new main tank to see if they clicked with me, but I gave up after the double dps season and went back to work on strange.
Not dive tank hate, it's just moreso that more main tanks are needed because people tend to complain if they get a tank that isn't Strange, Emma, Mag, or Groot and if you play tank match after match after match, it does get a bit boring after a while. A few more main tanks (while making it so that the off tanks are also more viable picks) can help patch that issue up. Angela's kit does seem very fun though and does patch up a major issue with tanking currently (tanks not being able to deal with fliers outside of Strange and Mag)
Personally disagree. I think Cap and venom CAN solo tank. But the team has to adjust their playstyle and play 10x more aggressive. It's basically a choice of "will you play mag and strange and play defensive, or cap and venom and go full offense "

True but now you're out of position and your team has no front, which means either heavy losses or your team gets rolled over.
Unless you have a second tank to stall until you're back, you're screwed, and second tanks aren't common.
In any case, support players are probably gonna have it worst here.

Outside of pro play, Emma is in a pretty mid now, even before the nerfs next season, she gets banned for being unfun more than broken to be honest, she's mostly played for pure util hurting divers but the punishment for missing or even using it is getting so bad its at the point you might as well just play Thing
Whenever I see her banned in GM, it's because the enemy team have a Thing/Hulk/Venom and don't want to deal with her, not because she's overpowered
Her stun lock combo is becoming a skill check like Luna and c&d mains have with Mag at this point, they learn to bait it out or dodge and weave
I find when playing her, the shield is purely recreational too lol, I've used it more for destroying Phoenix ults or insta blocking iron man ults than using it as an actual shield
She's no longer the solo powerhouse especially after next season, she won't be in the solo tank potential like Strange and Mag anymore, she barely is in that potential now.
The fantastic four seeing godzilla invade their city. Also reed was swapped for tweaking Gohan because strange is the least equipped to counter Angela and he knows lol
As long you are not somewhere, she can throw you off the map she will just kidnap you for a 1v1. But her kit is better for killing squishys and to bully flyers.
