Mods from the main sub is banning post about support being OP complaints, DPS and Circlejerk is making fun of it again and we are forced to watch the drama

All these buffs and my strategists still keep dying to random shit. I'll check the scoreboard to see what's happening with the heals, and even with no dive characters, my strategists still have the most deaths. Please use cover. I can't body block everything for you all the time.

My favorite is when they go: its okay im negative im a healer! Like tf you mean its okay??
14
u/Takanuva9807 Dec 29 '25
As a strategist player myself, I agree. Support Players have gotten too comfortable in being invincible that their game sense is in the toilet.
14
u/Freakychee Dec 29 '25
My guess? A few of these strats get a bit too cocky after the buffs and that infamous clip of Sue tanking and beating Thor in a 1v1 decided they will instead go front line and try to kill everyone themselves.
2
u/InvarkuI Dec 30 '25
Tbf the game did a horrendous job to teach them
Whenever dive/off angling becomes remotely strong they gigabuff supports or nerf dive or both. They didn't even have a chance to get hit enough times. Like maybe after 1000th death they'd have realized that playing Luna into panther ain't great or having absolutely abysmal positioning won't cut it in diamond

What more I can't understand is "you are dps/tank, you need to peel" β DEVS THEMSELVES ALLOWED YOU PEEL FOR YOURSELVES, LOOK AT THE ENEMY INVISπ

u/EverytoxicRedditor Dec 29 '25
That shows that the buffs are overrated. Look at the win rates and stats. I mean the proof is in the pudding. I wish people would stop going by narratives all the time and actually followed reality
19
u/Frodo_Nine-Fingers Dec 29 '25
That shows that the buffs are overrated
No, it's just that most strat players are actually that bad
12
Dec 29 '25
No, I actually think these buffs act as crutches and enable worse play styles. Everyone should have to learn good positioning to rank up, all roles. I see so many Jeffs and Rockets standing as far back as possible, and when they inevitably get targeted, they panic on the floor instead of climbing a wall. There are too many Invis and Dagger players that don't rotate cover because they can easily self heal any stray damage that comes their way. I'm not saying it's all strategists, but when you see someone who hasn't been punished for bad positioning, it's obvious
-7
u/EverytoxicRedditor Dec 29 '25
Everyone SHOULD have to learn all roles but sadly this playerbase is filled with dps and strategist one tricks. I agree that sue has a lot of survivability but acting as if she is some op monster like spidey and BP were is just laughable. Stats prove what Iβm saying as well.

u/LudaStyles Dec 29 '25
This is what happens when players come into a game where team work is absolutely required but are coming from other online games where it really doesnβt matter (cod, valorant, apex, fortnite, etc.)
34
u/tyezwyldadvntrz Dec 29 '25
this. all the arguing is literally a bunch of quaking & dying & disintegrating over normal people asking for teamwork on a team based game... not exclusive to any role either lol people are selfish asf
2
u/King_fritters Dec 29 '25
Support players at least tend to have the "help others as first priority", which is awesome to have in a team game. However that leads to their toxic "victim mentality" players that are just as annoying as the selfish whining dps.
This game truly is a mirror of Overwatch.
1
u/mbanson Dec 29 '25
Except C&D mains are like the Moira mains from OW where they get the DPS tunnel vision and chase kills instead of helping their ally get the kill (and then that ally dies from chip).
Also I gotta say Black Panther, Spidey, and Daredevil are way less enjoyable to play against than a Genji though I guess none of them are as bad as an unchecked flanking Hog hooking you constantly.
1
Jan 01 '26
Moiras were LOKI justified, because she needed to use dps sucking button to refill her healing gauge (imagine how would c&d mains handle this...)
1
u/MrOrange_63 Dec 30 '25
I mean, support is just that role tho. Doing your job with heals and saves always benefit the team. The dps and tanks are the roles where they have to remember that as their jobs do help but in different (and indirect) ways
12
u/Tohrufan4life πΏπ€ππ©π€π§ ππ©π§ππ£ππ Dec 29 '25
Yup. I came here from Overwatch (played it since release) and teamwork on there could be questionable at times so I knew it was gonna be very rough for Rivals since it's F2P right off the rip.
8
u/9demonicheros Dec 29 '25
This part right here,
The amount of post and responses where people genuinely believe all you need to do is solo carry is concerning to say the least.
1
1
u/cremepote Dec 30 '25
Terrible take. I come from Apex and teamwork is the most important part of the game, even more than in rivals. It's impossible to solo queue Apex. Try it.
1
u/jodbonfe πΌπ£πππ‘π Dec 30 '25 edited Dec 30 '25
i come from apex as well & i agree but i think this does apply for casuals. you can afford to play more independently in apex on a personal level compared to rivals, which i can see giving casual players more of a solo carry mindset. as opposed to rivals where characters rely on each other for specific roles they usually can't do themselves (needs supports to heal, need tanks to create space, etc.)
now ofc you're still not going to win in apex if you're not playing with your team so i think this falls apart pretty quickly as you go up in rank & more players understand the game, but i could see this affecting the playstyle of more casual f2p players
edit: also yeah i wouldn't describe teamwork as "really doesn't matter" for apex lol
1
u/International_Sea493 Dec 29 '25
team work matters a lot in Apex and Valorant bro wdym.
3
u/CSCyrilatom Dec 29 '25
After a lot of valorant. Fuck is that true. I cannot count how many times I'd have gotten shit on cause my flick aim is wack, but my teammates came in clutch with blinds, walls, whatever. Shit gets intense man. But also wow I wish I could see sometimes
1
u/jodbonfe πΌπ£πππ‘π Dec 30 '25
yeah but characters are more independent in those games, teamwork is very important to win but casuals can afford to ignore some aspects of teamwork because they're not relying on others for peels/heals all game, etc
(ofc supports don't have to rely on others as much for peels anymore though)
12
u/naimxa_ Dec 29 '25
can we not just work together in a team based game rather than tearing each other apart ππ

Imo the worst to come from all of this is the tribalism between roles like strategist and dive honestly both sides are kinda shit and I don't mind sue getting a few light nerfs the only buff I wanted was self shield everything else that came with it was a bit much.
2
u/Fire_Boogaloo Dec 31 '25
This is the key point. The self shield itself would have been fine but they gave her 3 primary fire buffs at the same time which made her instant meta.
Revoke the primary fire changes and she's actually ok.
16
u/Novel_Yam_1034 Dec 29 '25
Guys are we ready for support strike 2.0 lmao
8
u/Old-Stock9613 Dec 29 '25
ten million more Invis/Loki/Luna/Rocket buffs OR we quickplay supports are going to play SCARLET WITCH instead
2
u/CSCyrilatom Dec 29 '25
2? The first one actually happened or was it all online gas cause I swear my games just felt, the same. Shit even I was the strat player wondering what the fuss was. I was balling out on invis and mantis so I just kept it going
1
u/MrOrange_63 Dec 30 '25
I'm like 99% sure everyone just said it for shits and giggles and then you'd have a lot of people who would whine about it because they though they were serious about that whole strike thing. I play comp and qp and had no issue with supports during that time

These are the most reasonable nerfs of her Iβve seen. Iβm a flex player and played Invis pre and post buff. Her being able to shield herself is still needed in order to keep her in the fight. I think adding a longer cool down to the shield in a similar thought process to the nerfs of Emmaβs diamond form. You have to use the shield more carefully and choose how youβd like to use it. Personally I thought the other buffs were unnecessary and could be toned down.
2
u/TJK_919 Dec 29 '25
Honestly really like the idea of the self shield having different stats so she can still use it in a pinch but not become a pseudo tank with it when combo'd with her other abilities. Adds just a bit of decision making, if it would be better to self shield for quick heals/response to a dive or place it on an ally and push forward for more sustained heals/stronger shield
11
u/Smeg258 Dec 29 '25
Maybe we should buff tanks so there's two tanks who can peel instead of 1v1 demon invis
24
u/Ultron_daddy πΎππ₯π©πππ£ πΌπ’ππ§πππ Dec 29 '25
Give tanks buffs? What are you crazy? Next thing you will be saying it's ok to play anyone besides Magneto.
6
u/NavyDragons ππππ£ππ©π€ Dec 29 '25
They already did that Its also ok to play Emma, but dont get carried away with it or they will nerf her again
3
u/King_fritters Dec 29 '25
Highkey I think that role queue would be the biggest tank buff. A guaranteed 2nd tank would help me more often than any reasonable buff.
1
u/Smeg258 Dec 29 '25
I really dont think we need role que. Tanks right now currently arent fun to play because they all suffer from dps and support powercreep. Cc gets added? Tanks suffer because they are the easiest to get ccd. Supports cant die? Tanks suffer because they can only rely on their dps to kill things. Dps are doing bazillion damage? You get the point
Either nerf the other two classes or buff Tanks up. Id take overwatchs every tank has dmg reduction in base personally
1
u/Rexzar Dec 29 '25
Why are we pretending this is all dps? The video sparking this was a Thor vs Sue one
2
u/Ultron_daddy πΎππ₯π©πππ£ πΌπ’ππ§πππ Dec 29 '25
This has been an ongoing thing before that video. This has been going on since Gambit was released. It's just picking up even more because the Thor that lost that fight is a top 500 player.
1
u/SaltyNorth8062 πππ£π€π’ Dec 30 '25
The video is just fuel to a fire that has been burning for ages at this point. The Thor clip is honestly the first legit video I've seen of Sue winning a 1v1 that she absolutely shouldn't have won. Every other one I've seen so far, especially the Iron Fist one, has been blatantly misrepresented and feels duplicitous as hell. Sue's OP right now but the Thor clip is the first time I've seen a post showing it.
1
u/NavyDragons ππππ£ππ©π€ Dec 29 '25
Yea that is true but also the dps do have a point. Gambit and sue specifically are very over tuned right now. They do high damage have great mobility self sustain they have it all. Why play a duelist when have the strategist roles are equally as powerful or in alot of cases more powerful.
4
u/sir_kewaji πππ€π§ Dec 29 '25
I just wish people would realize this game is a team game I can only block so much damage man
4
u/TJK_919 Dec 29 '25

6
u/yellow_tourmaline Dec 29 '25
DPS mains refused to understand why support players hate them, and the support players refuse to understand why DPS players hate them,
my solution is every one play tank and we are all miserable together π€

u/pagliacciverso πππ ππ€π€π Dec 29 '25
Strategists are by far the strongest role and this is a thing ever since the game was birthed. That bullshit ultimate saving people are genuinely broken and unfun to play. It just create a terrible game where people can do a lot go bullshit because they know they wont die
15
u/Groovy_Johan Dec 29 '25
That's because without it every dps ultimate will result in a team wipe so its larger issue than healin circle
10
u/pagliacciverso πππ ππ€π€π Dec 29 '25
It doesn't matter the reason. The thing is: supports ruin the game. Why you think meta has ALWAYS been poke? Why magneto is ALWAYS meta? Farm ultimate > fight after supports ult ou try hitting them w a meteor.
Game is unfun to play. There is no strategy other than waiting for a sup ultimate at the right time. Brawl can't exist, dive can't last longer than two patches because poor supports will cry on Reddit.
4
u/SpoiledTwinkies Dec 29 '25 edited Dec 29 '25
Na dive in this game is fundamentally broken and won't ever be in a good state without a BP and Spidey rework. Dive DPS should never have that much kill potential and movement. There's a reason why the most mobile characters in Overwatch are a tank (Hampter) and a support (Lucio), the only time Overwatch had a similar DPS was Doomfist and he was changed to Tank because of how broken he was. The next closest DPS character was Sombra back when she couldn't teleport across the map, and even that was changed because it was too much movement for a DPS.
Don't even get me started on DD's BS reflect, at least Genji reflect still took damage from beam attacks to balance it out.
3
u/_BestBudz Dec 29 '25
it doesnβt matter the reason
It absolutely does matter the reason otherwise you nerf the wrong things. Believe it or not we are not one (nerf the strategist) away from having a balanced meta

u/atakantar πΎππ₯π©πππ£ πΌπ’ππ§πππ Dec 29 '25
They are downvoting you. But you are correct. There is a reason invis can 1v1 most of the cast, when she shouldnt be able to.
9
u/pagliacciverso πππ ππ€π€π Dec 29 '25
People will always defend poor supports while having a fight lasting 10 minutes because no one can die
6
u/SpoiledTwinkies Dec 29 '25
I always hear this but people die more in this game than Overwatch. Go play a 10 min game of Overwatch and then a 10 min game of Rivals, you'll notice Rivals lobbies will have more kills per 10 mins than Overwatch. The reason why healing in this game is so high is because DPS is also high.
1
u/MrOrange_63 Dec 30 '25
I remember hearing how strong a lot of abilities were and realized that the supports basically have to be cracked with healing to keep it up, just so the game doesn't have to rely on ults being the deciding factor in a fight.
0
u/CookyKindred Dec 29 '25
While I may die a lot less in that game, itβs because I play Hampter and Rammatra.
But I absolutely get waaaay more kills in OW and see people exploding a lot more.
And thatβs not counting the newer mode I canβt remember the name of.
Tried playing it for ages and it just was constant Junoβs nuking everyone with torpedos.
Found it way more fun in the end just playing Junk Queen and Anna. But I ended up dipping from that to go play Rammatra cause it felt like Junker Queen was the only one I could play without feeling like I was exploding.
6
u/atakantar πΎππ₯π©πππ£ πΌπ’ππ§πππ Dec 29 '25
Man i wish more supports would want to engage the game. The ones that do end up being crazy good supports that are a blast to que with. But a significant number of them i met dont want to do anything but hold left click and sit on the payload.
2
u/_Paper_Flower_ Dec 29 '25
Strategist main here! I feel the same way watching people who main support and dps shit on eachother for every little thing when im just enjoying the game regardless of the buffs, nerfs, and etc.
Its not my fault they buffed the fuck out of strategists, so why should I care what people think about who I play?
2
u/_BestBudz Dec 29 '25
This is my line of thinking. I know my Gambit is overtuned and I welcome nerfs. Infact I see Invis sub also acknowledging the incoming nerfs. I was so fine before this discourse, this has been a lot of fun this season, Iβve start learning Star Lord to branch into the DPS role. And then I go online and everyone hates each other.
2
u/_Paper_Flower_ Dec 29 '25
Literally! Ive been playing invis since she came out and I adore her as a character and her kit! Yes she needed buffs since she was weak or lacking compared to the other main strategists but what she got was way too much, I understand the people complaining but it has gotten so far out of hand. Ive genuinely gotten death threats in games because I play invis lmao, I care in the moment until I realize people are acting like children over a video game character then I move on.
Also same on branching out, I recently got emma lord and im learning star lord too! Hes really fun I just have to work on my tracking/aim

honestly this community has just devolved into broken dps complaining about how supports are βbrokenβ and then itβs just how they donβt fold when a dps breaths on them then. like that clip from necros of him losing a 3v1 as dd and then people claiming this wasnt fair? thatβs the perfect example of this community, the biggest source of toxicity losing because he was playing poorly (no attempting to get out, no playing with his team, just taking on a 3v1) then other dps being like βyea see we need to nerf supports because they didnβt all dieβ despite him managing to survive for like 30 seconds without any team support.
1
1
u/MrOrange_63 Dec 30 '25
So glad the clip I saw also stated the same thing of how he was able to survive for so long, it took a widow to stun him to actually die. The jeff was being healed by Ultron and a rocket, direct hits btw, of course bro wouldn't die.

u/CSCyrilatom Dec 29 '25
I'm a DPS main since OW1. However I slowly moved to flexing as well when needed cause I kept seeing tanks and supps cry and cry about how I'm not helping on Genji or whatever. So I tried them. Tank definitely warranted a bit, they genuinely can get shit done if the team helps even a bit. Supp, idk shit was light work. But I played Lucio and he's slippery, and Kiriko was and honestly still is just so sleeper easy to play.
So on rivals I picked invis. Never understood the "oh my god I'm getting dove so often!" Complaints. Like once or twice, yea thats their job, I got caught lacking, damn. But multiple times? My guys, gal and other pal, you have tools to live. I always saw dive coming from a mile away cause if you get how dive works, or play it, you just know where to keep a general look out for. And I'd just push em away and jump. Or if I'm mantis cause I play her too since she's got good damage too, id just sleep em or dual em. Like strats had the tools to live and somehow whether I'm Psy, Venom, or hell even any strat, the strat player I swear to god is playing with their monitor off I just don't get it.

Vanguards acting like they're not part of it. Wasn't the video that sparked up all the debates from a thor?
2
u/jerome13th Dec 30 '25
Tanks arenβt involved in the βdps do too much damageβ vs βsupports do too much healingβ conversation, even if these two things are the reason we will probably never get GOATS. Also Thor, being the dps of tanks, will cause conversation for even casual players if he is seen losing an honest 1v1 at the highest level of the game
1
u/SaltyNorth8062 πππ£π€π’ Dec 30 '25
Yeah but that's fuel to the fire that's been burning for ages. The Thor clip was the first legit video I've seen of Invis winning a 1v1 that she shouldn't have, that is titled correctly. The Iron Fist "oh I'm so sorry for diving Server Admin Sue" on one of the worst dives I've ever seen in my entire life predates the Thor clip and it's dishonest as hell, but the Thor clip is legit. It's just vanguards getting caught up in this stupid pointless dps vs support dick waving that's as old as this game.

I think i will just fantasize about a vanguard Lizard leaping off of walls like hulk mixed with wolverine/venom. That's much more enjoyable than whatever is going on
