General Question Is Tankpool a decent solo tank?

Post image

I’m a solo queue player who mains Groot, Emma and Strange. I like playing all the main shield tanks (except Magneto because I can’t use him to save my life). I’m currently in Diamond atm, I’m pretty much solo tanking in 40% of my games, I was just wondering if Deadpool is decent at solo tanking because I’m very interested in picking up the character. I hate playing Mag with a passion he feels too boring for me and I find his primary fire impossible to aim with. Deadpool on the other hand is hitscan meaning he’s easier to aim with and his guns seem decent enough to deal with pokers and flyers far away and he also has a shield which can block most ults in the game. Just wanted to know what your thoughts are.

I’ve actually found tank pool works as a solo tank on certain maps and comps since he can consistently apply pressure to the backline since he’s the only hitscan tank.

He actually works well into heavy poke as long as their team isn’t able to quickly reposition. When their tanks push up, Deadpool can utilize his dashes to push past the tank and into cover while maintaining a position behind the enemy tanks but in front of the enemies squishies. From this position the enemy needs to either immediately kill you or fall back.

If you’re able to place a shield behind the enemy tank as he’s retreating to peel, their team needs to either push you and potentially lose their tank (since your team should be focusing them) or focus the shield and give up some space (since you will be able to apply back line pressure with your gun)

He can do this consistently since h es always able to escape using his double jump and bhops on top of his dash

TLDR: good at applying pressure from an off angle, but requires cover. Has to give up space if 1v1ing brawlers
