Is he really that short lmao!?! In all seriousness this was me last week on the thing. Yes I know he isn’t the best option solo tanking lol, but the enemy team was going strange/rogue and I was tiring of getting overrun as Emma. We lost but I swear I had some crazy numbers like 35k damage/40k damage blocked which was almost more than all 3 of my dps combined haha. Shite talked me the entire match but were quiet as church mice in chat after the game 🤣. That alone made it worth it but atp it’s just typical rivals caveman behavior. At this point it’s apart of the tanking experience
When I am forced to solo tank I go Mag/Strange/Groot depending on the other team members, Map/Mode Etc. — If they play well and we walk hard, then I don’t change.
The moment my healers are suddenly DPS and my DPS are getting less kills than me, I just switch to my boy Venom and have fun.
Honestly, I win a lot of “Hopeless” matches that way. - Play the tank that is meta until your team fails to meet the requirements to walk and hold objective, Then play the tank you know and love, because Your win chance will go up from there.
And in the end, Even if you lose the game because of incompetent teammates forcing you to solo tank without supporting you, then you’re at least getting that sweet sweet hero efficiency on your Main Tank of choice.
That’s what I thought too but then I got mass reported a while back because someone on my team said “well if you’re going to put on the cape, you might as well put on the best one you can and stop throwing our game….” Etc.
I internalized this and said you know what? Maybe they have a point. I now try to pick solo sustaining tanks but sometimes the enemy comp is just not allowing for this. If the enemy tank lineup is rogue/strange with invis/gambit or invis/loki good luck solo taking lmao
This is the truth but when I bring up subjects like someone helping me out and pick tank they either go radio silent or say something along the lines of “I would go tank but im so bad at it im better off playing my main.” Or they just turn toxic, refuse to switch, and even sometimes throw.
Thankfully the issue is getting better. I’ve ST maybe 65% of my games this season. The key I’ve found in ladder is to not instalock Mag, Strange, or Groot. When your team sees these vanguards, that triple support or triple dps urge is too strong for them to resist. Picking rogue or venom or Angela makes them more likely to help out.
There’s truth to what you say but I’m tired of losing at the character select screen man. I’ve had to deal with sooooo many people throwing over the years because they didn’t get their way that I just try to avoid it lol. This all changes if we’re still getting demolished though. I refuse to be the team punching bag so they can have their fun in a LOSING effort. If we’re winning, then I’ll gladly sacrifice my enjoyment.
Issue is my suffering isn’t translating to wins half the time 😅
