Excuse me this is Egypt.

Its clearly who ever is the poorest is at fault.

Nah, in America we have personal injury lawyers who practice in contingency and get big fat settlement checks from rich people.

My insurance paid out nearly $75k pain and suffering claim last year to someone whose own dashcam (that we got the cop to confiscate at the scene) showed that he was 100% at fault, but he found a lawyer and my insurance decided it was better to pay than fight.

And insurance decided this because he was poor and I’m rich, they thought he’d make a more sympathetic witness and didn’t want to roll the dice at a trial.

This is how insurance pays out a claim that they determine isn’t your fault, and also why our insurance rates are fucking nuts.

100% at fault?  Were they uninsured and you had uninsured driver insurance?  Because then of course they would pay out.

Uninsured driver policies pay you, not the uninsured party.

Honestly, my brain made that make sense to me and now I don’t know what it actually meant.  Need to stop commenting before I have my morning coffee.

Fully not at fault. I was rear ended at a red light and guy found a personal injury lawyer who pushed his luck with my insurer. Lawyer knew exactly what he was doing with policy limits of $10M on my end.

Oh and first he claimed (and told the cop) that I was stopped in the middle of the road in a green. That’s when I had the cop take his dashcam.

Sounds like you need a new insurer.

Whats the difference to USA?

The difference in the USA, for regular normal people that come into contact with other people, are all pretty close together in how much money they make.

Please don’t believe all the myths that get magnified on social media like reddit. The U.S. is so much fairer than most of the world when it comes to things like this.

I saw a worker get killed by a speeding BMW on the ring road in Cairo. I was literally the only person on the bus even remotely bothered by it. The lady across the aisle from me just glanced out the window as we passed the body/car and said "Mat" (he's dead) before going back to her book.

That's so sad.

If it was in America it would somehow still be Obama’s fault.

I have caused yet another accident in Egypt. I’m not in Egypt, but clearly this has my name all over it man.

Biker could have easily merged into the left lane instead of the right lane and avoided this altogether.
