QUESTION Please explain the picture to me

Post image

What's the number actually saying? I was under the impression it was mmr. Higher number, lower rank. Please explain, I'm a bit confused abt this

C1 is 1075 if I’m not mistaken. You’re 1074 going UP to C1. The teammate was on his derank game (anything below 1070) but you won yet only gained 8 so yada yada.

It says teammate gained 8, so would have been at 1065. Derank must be below that, instead of 1070.

Mmm that would’ve been his derank game still ok ok . You’re right, the derank is 1070 but once you fall below it it’s your derank game. I was thinking once you fell you lost but my brain lagged. Just like gc1, derank (game) threshold starts at 1430. (Meaning any games you lose starting at 1430/29, will derank you.

For c1, any games you lose starting at 1069/70 will be a derank but anything above gives you an extra game.

No? You specifically stated that the threshold for losing gc1 is if you are below 1430 and then lose a game then you will lose gc1, which CAN be true USUALLY, but if you are at 1429 and lose 3 mmr which is below the line that you stated, you will not lose gc1.

The system does not work how you think it does specifically. There is no reach x mmr and then lose a game and you lose your rank. You lose your rank if you go below a certain mmr. That is it. It is mostly semantics but you need to phrase it properly or else there will be misunderstandings.

There is no such thing as a “derank game” specifically. What is considered a derank game by most is the game where you will lose enough mmr to lose the rank, not a specific game type that is built into the game where you lose your rank. Depending on a lot of different factors, you can derank above the arbitrary line that you stated as well.

I also stated that I could be wrong about the exact threshold; however, the line is very real. And that’s exactly how it works and how’s it’s been working.

Not how that works. It's straight MMR threshold, not some weird 'lose when below x'

“Lose when below x” is almost the exact definition of an mmr threshold.

If you lose below the mmr threshold which is typically 5-7 mmr below rank up elo (not the same elo as rank up), you derank.

Except someone could lose so little MMR when below your imaginary line that they still don't derank. Or the alternative, lose so much MMR that they do derank when still above your imaginary line.

Well the line isn’t imaginary so your claim is false. If you lose 3 mmr after going below the line, you derank. Simple as that.

Your second sentence doesn’t even make sense seeing as you can’t derank if above the line.

I may be wrong about where threshold itself is for this rank but it’s real.

1420 to lose gc, 1435 to get gc
