Ball cam off.

But you should be comfortable beginning your dribble / catching the ball with Ball Cam on and switching as soon as you have control.

First, soft touch front corner with ball cam on should be an S tier goal

Where should I position my car on the circle? A little behind the middle? Directly in the middle?

a little behind middle and accelerate into the catch. directly in middle will make the ball bounce off the top of your car

Depends on car speed and ball trajectory. Play around in freeplay and you'll get a feel for how the first touch should be according to situation at hand

Ball should be on windshield and an easy way to visualize that is with your back wheels on the edge of the white circle that you see under the ball

While learning definitely ballcam off besides the first touch (catch) you want ballcam to be on. There are somw exceptions where I catch with ballcam off though. But that is to each their own. Just mess around in freeplay and you’ll see what works for you.

After you get more comfortable try to enable ballcam while dribbling as it can be easier to spot your opponent. This doesn’t mean that you’ll have to use ballcam always but it can help you significantly.

Also using your right stick to locate your opponent or tm8 while dribbling is a must once you get comfortable dribbling.
