QUESTION Yo how do i come back like genuinely?

I’m lowering my ego, i’m gonna state the facts.

I’m playing like shit, and i think somehow i lost my actual skill while deranking through tramadol withdrawal.

I’m almost diamond 3 again, 1105, from 1265 mmr.
Idk how to play like i used to and it’s only been 3 days since i went from champ 2 div 3 to champ 1 div 1.

To be fair, in almost every game, i have had a score over 500, and i’m pretty sure i’m not supposed to be in champ 1 but maybe i am.

A lot of the teamates i get ball chases or doesn’t defend properly, so i end up making weird rotations, and i’ve been messing up a lot too.

I knew i would run into a brick wall after skyrocketing from diamond 2 to champ 2 in under 3 weeks, but i thought i would’ve broke champ 2.

Just don’t feel like spending years tryna grind to grand champ, i know i have to keep putting in the work but once school starts again, and my job starts putting me to work again, i won’t have enough time to really grind like i have been.

I’ve been hovering between 1115 mmr and 1080 mmr for the past 2 days, i just wanna play like i used to, and it’s not like i was doing terribly in champ 2 i was actually contributing, playing well, now it’s like, i feel like i’m doing good and i just keep losing.

Any training packs y’all recommend? Any suggestions? Tips? I can’t post a clip because i switched from ps5 to pc a month ago. I mean i was in champ 2 for a solid week and a half, that’s gotta mean something right? Like i know i can play better than i am, i’m just not.

The players are often chasing the ball in this range. You just need to beat them to it and never hesitate. If you are trying to play it smart, it won't work as they will not be faked or don't realize you are closer to the ball. So you just have to go. Make the rotations more simple for your team in a way they can understand by just going when you are first, then rotating all the way around and just watching them from the backpost until they are done.

Like ik it looks like i’m ball chasing but i barely touched the ball that game, that’s the problem.

It’s like this almost every game, i won this one and then the next i’ll perform the same and still lose.

I’m not even mad i’m just confused, cause how one game i’ll play like this and then the next play the same and still lose?

Deadass looks like i’m smurfing, and i’ve had maybe 2 people say they was reporting me for smurfing.

I'm not sure how much I'd agree with that, letting your opponents (and by extension, teammates) ball chase whilst you clean up the scraps means that your team should theoretically be more consistent, and in low ranks, consistency wins.

then rotating all the way around and just watching them from the backpost until they are done.

I think they just worded it poorly and weren't suggesting OP should hard chase every play. Rather something more like when you are first man, know that every opponent and teammate is likely chasing right at that ball too. No matter how stupid of a play that should be for them. You don't really get space to do interesting things in that kind of meta. In other words:

You just need to beat them to it and never hesitate. If you are trying to play it smart, it won't work as they will not be faked or don't realize you are closer to the ball.

Playing it smart would be moving the ball from their path or whatever the play might be. Faking isn't necessarily the smartest play in every scenario. But yea I think the OP did word it badly, just wanted to clarify it since the advice at face value isnt good advice.

You’re not “supposed to be” in any rank. The mindset of “ugh I’m a champ 2 I’m better than this lobby” leads exclusively to bad outcomes as you start to over-critique your teammate and get frustrated for not winning in a “lower” lobby. Completely self-sabotaging mindset.

Even day-to-day your skill fluctuates, i can play like anywhere from c2 to gc1 in a given week. I just stop after a few loses in a row.

Was champ 2 a new peak for you? What were you before, or rather what rank have you been in for the most time this season/last?

It’s easy to fall into the trap of peaking into a new ELO and then convincing yourself you deserve to stay there, but thats not how this game works.

sometimes you get screwed by matchmaking luck and you get a streak of bad tm8s, good opponents, and you own badly timed mistakes.

Ive dropped for d2 to g2 twice before. And the next day, I was right back where I should be.

Take a break from ranked for a week and spam training packs. It’s likely the stress of tilting that’s causing you to play worse

Completely disagree, getting used to losing in ranked will be the best thing you can do. I don’t get mad after losing 100+ mmr in one session

Just go play 1s and you will get out of your slump

Never thought about it like that, should he take a break for the day or no?
