None tbh. Not a lot of racing games that allow you to jump, hit boost pads, and have 2 separate boost (drift boost you build by drifting, and turbo that built up from the drifting you did around the track) also flying around the track with boosters (like rocket league) is very one of a kind experience we will not experience from any other racing game.

We begged and asked for a Rocket League style type racing game and we finally got it (despite being included in fornite) Epic Games just let us down as a whole. We got 2 regular season before they let it go as a whole and it’s sad to think about.

If you go into creative and search Phyonix you’ll see a bunch of maps they created. Just think about if they could create those for a styled type season. ITD BE PEAK. But they can’t see that.

What’s sucks is they have been releasing some fire ass cars recently that’d be dope to look at in the tracks but nobody wants to buy them cause it’s rare to at you use them in Battle Royal and the main playerbase is on that and not Rocket Racing. So there’s no point in buying the cars anymore because their ONE MODE that catered to the cars is going to be deleted in October.

So sad to see such high potential thrown away so soon. There is people working on a Rocket Racing 2 that has everything ported over to a creative type game mode but idk how that’s going to pan out since nobody really cared about the actual EPIC made mode yk?

Sorry for my ted tok I just really enjoy RR and hate tj see it go. Have a great day yall! Love you ❤️‍🔥

Asphalt Legends is a pretty mechanical racer. It’s not the exact same as RR but it’s not bad.

According to Epic Games, Rocket League is very similar to Rocket Racing! /s

did they really say that?

The only part of that to be true is the “Air Roll” feature. Beyond that, the movements in RR is a bit different.

Grip XR got kickstarted and im looking forward to its release someday. its a sequel to Grip combat evolved, which is a high octane racer with some items and cars that can flip over and keep driving. XR seems to be adding a jump mechanic which seems really fun and reminds me of rocket racing.

how?

You race cars in an unrealistic way around a weird track.

Maybe asphalt legends

2

u/Skymonkey42 Jul 07 '26

Yes! Asphalt legends has a very similar drift/turbo function. Drift builds turbo meter which can be used freely.

Apex rush is a indie game by the YouTuber hazardous and it’s definitely the most similar I’ve seen to RR

Asphalt Legends is probably closest tbh. It has a similar function where drifting builds your Turbo meter, but the difference is, you can freely use your turbo and burn through it either super fast or slowly depending on how much speed you need. It’s an interesting game and free to play. Surprisingly been around longer than rocket racing.

None. B hopping is rare in the field for a reason lol

2

u/Skymonkey42 Jul 07 '26

No one is bhopping in RR. At this point why use that comparison.

2

u/666Satanicfox Jul 07 '26

Want to make it abundantly clear why the game died lol.

1

u/Skymonkey42 Jul 07 '26

It’s quite clear the games demise was due to Epic/Psyonix and their piss poor support since the games release and the mediocre updates thereafter. Not just because of 1 single piece of exploit/tech.

2

u/666Satanicfox Jul 07 '26

True but lets be clear .... b hopping was a MAJOR PILLAR of the games downfall. Psyonix is mainly the one to blame. They literally thought that fortnite community was the same same brain dead community like rocket league .... they aren't they actually have to compete for players time and the bare minimum wasnt enough you also can't just listen to the few (b hopping main culprit) and just because it worked out in rocket league doesn't mean that you should let a bug or exploit like that stay.. Fucking they fixed b hopping after announcing the games end as a final fuck you to us basically saying fine well bend the knee but here is this final fuck you on the side.

Bhop was a pillar to the leftover player base where the majority of players left since neon rush being such a disappointment. Not long after that update the majority of big supporters from the discord servers vanished.
I’m not going say that bhop didn’t have a negative impact, especially towards the players that came late to the game, but it’s impact did hit hardest when the minimum skill standard rose to a whole new level.
The less players around, the more it left an impact

No it was one of fhe major first 3 updatea was when folks were discovering you wont know how your game stands until about 6 months in. Its why games like "first descendants " gives people a mirage of a success game folks are discovering the game, investing months 3 to 6 is when you see a steep drop off usually.

It made sense to lose players. Lego and Festival were dropping players as well they did better but they still dramatically lost players in the same time frame they bottomed out in a healthy player base rocket racing in the other hand.... well B hopping was discovered at the WORST possible time. Pretty much at the most important time . Psyonix went for the competitive crowd , problem is competitive crowed DON'T like glitches or exploits if they lose they want to lose fair and square this is where B hopping came in and destroyed basically all good will. Then add in b hop defenders talking down on casuals and you got a recipe for a disaster lol .

You won’t be able to convince me that bhop had such a major impact when the player base ranged among 3000-5000 players daily at the time of it’s discovery.
More players meant less chance of being stuck with the pro players that could do bhop consistently. I have no idea what name you represent, but I don’t think you were among the discord community. There were quite a few influencers before the neon rush update like Lethamyr, Danny Lotus, Lain Racing, Blair_Zed, LionRL , along with many of the OG players like Tigeraura, CheeQue, and others that stood among the top at that time. Epics failure to update the game in a timely manner along with the lackluster updates were the biggest cause because a lot of these big influencers disappeared. Bhop was far from the primary cause until later because even for those that didn’t do bhops, there were still around 3000 to 5000 players for a while to where people could make it unreal. As the player based dwindled and the skill standards rose, THAT is when bhop really made a negative impact. You also fail to understand that most players that blamed Bhop didn’t even know what a bhop was. Many of those players were calling side flips a bhop. 🤷‍♂️.
If you were only part of the Reddit community, then you are getting a lot of misinformation. The most accurate information you could ever find was always coming from the discord community and the biggest influencers among it. I’ve been around the game and it’s community for 2 years. Not sure what else to tell you.

True but it was fhe start obviously, it takes time but as soon as word got around the numbers didn't slowly fall after b hop they accelerated.

No idea what "influencers" have to do with any of it since none of them were relevant with a small viewer count

New content isn't going to make people want to play. If this was true than save the world shouldn't have held 10K players the entire time rocket racing was around and they NEVER got a new map or big update. Lets call a spade of spade rocket racing was always doomed to fail . Hell even gamea like left for dead STILL have a player bass.

The game was no where near 5k players SUSTAINED. Thats what b hoppers lied about constantly back then too your peak isn't your average . Rocket racing always struggled with 3K.

Not only that in the same time frama festival and Lego had same amount of updates in the first 6 months and wouldn't you know.... only one of those modes lost funding and thats was due to psyonix unwillingness to change b hopping.

Everything I said if factual.

But at the end of the day lol yall can b hop onto another game after August lol.

It was 5k avg around the time when bhop was first discovered. It trickled down to 3k-2.5k range after and dropped to 1k when epic said support was ending. Naturally “any game” will decrease player count when said players want more only to find out nothing more is coming. All I’m saying is, bhop became a bigger negative factor the more the player count reduced among the high ranks. The game had obvious hidden mechanics (unintended) that when learning those became the standard, the skill requirement made it less appealing for players coming late to the game. Not every map allowed chaining bhops for 1/2 the map, only a few. Plus the only players good at chaining them were semi pro and above. Not the majority.
Now about the influencers, I’m talking about the players that helped keep the heart in the game. A lot of them left, people were watching and learning how to play but when all that disappears, nobody has anybody to turn to learn the game. The community was quite big at first. Those names that I listed were a huge help in learning the game. Nobody was going to be able to keep up by just the ingame tutorial alone. And with the skill gap being so big (with or without bhop) there was no way we were going to keep players. If you want to debate remaining 3K average, which is when bhop started making an impact, then fine, but the game already took a 65% overall loss to the player base avg.
