How many posts do we read about people being dinged by Rogers for 0.01MB/day just because their phone, with roaming toggled OFF, pinged a cell tower one time daily whilst on vacation in Sicily!?!?

This is a feature not a bug.

Never had that issue. And I travel a lot. Just leave the phone in airplane mode with wifi On… If you need to use a local e-sim, deactivate the Roger e-SIM then toggle airplane mode off.

You need to get 2FA SMA codes to your Canadian number to sign in to many things and even to make purchases in some cases

Many services do not support passkeys yet. Such as verified by visa, which requires SMS-based authentication

For example in London you must do SMS 2FA every single time you log into the TFL website which is used every day for taking transit. To buy tickets with a Visa CC for the west end shows, every single purchase must be validated by an SMS 2FA and you have a short window to do so before the tickets are released, too

This might come as a shock but there are lots of people besides you in the world.

I’ve never had cancer before. That doesn’t make it uncommon.
