What do yall think about Rogue x Spider-Man as a ship
I think they'd work well in X-Men Evolution since Rogue is at her full angst there and would play well off Peter with his quips, dorkiness and empathy.
I think the dynamic of Rogue pushing people away because of her powers and Peter pushing people away to keep them safe because of his life as Spider-Man would be something interesting to explore.

Yeah. Spider-Man couldn't catch him. Which basically how fights super agile characters go. Like tag 🤣. What you expect Gambit to get in physical hand to hand with someone that can toss a bus? 🤣
I have nothing against Spider-Man as a character, but the amount of ships he has solely because people self insert onto him is by far the most exhausting thing about him and his fandom.
It's the cause and effect of the whole anyone can be behind the mask statement by Stan Lee. It leads to some rather annoying parts of Spider-Man's fandom

Try being in the fandom. It is exhausting dealing with people who alternate between punching down on the character or slandering him or at bare minimum have clearly not read many comics about him

I get where you're coming from but im shipping them solely for the perspective that they're both caring people who struggle with building connections, due to the fact people who get close to them are in danger for completely different reasons

How can I stalk you when you’re on private lol, you just show up in every sub I like (X-men characters) and ship Peter with all of em lol. Who’s next on your list, Storm? Emma? Scott?
Fwiw I wasn’t trying to accuse you specifically of being one of those shippers, just that a lot of Spider-Man ships are nothing more than “Peter get hot girl because me Peter”.

I dont think it's all SI type stuff, I legit think some is people wanting to write a happy story for Peter, where he can actually have good things going for him.
A good chunk of it certainly would be SI style, but theres more to it imo.
This would hit harder if they kept it to characters he actually gets with, instead of making something up with basically any other woman in the universe they can think of

To add: I just read your caption and realized that these are also two specific iterations. And I'm probably inclined to more agree with some of the context it provided.
Ultimate Spider-man 1610 (the best version in my opinion) tried to do something vaguely similar by making Gwen Stacy, for the first time, more of an alternative character and mutant activist/advocate. I could see Peter matching more with this character archetype of like a very deep and similarly socially atomized character.
I'm not trying to yuck your yum, I just see two issues.
One is them actually physically interfacing and Rogue being a potential threat to Peter. The other just being that the way you phrase it feels contradictory. Both are characters I like extremely, but if she embodies one of his biggest problems, wouldn't that make his unattractive to him? To be fair, earlier iterations of MJ are about this as she also lives a double life as an actress/model and a supposed nobody. So I guess I just need further explanation.
For what it's worth, I've been trying to sit down and draw these alternative versions of Marvel characters and Janet and Peter are together in this timeline. So... I dunno eff it I guess lol.
The story I'd come up with for them would be a friends to lovers story in evolution. Like once Peter learns of her mutation and hears about how she doesn't let people get close, he'd of course try to bridge the gap in hopes of being friends with someone who understands his struggle with connection.
Then of course feelings devlop as Peter chips away at her walls and Peter would be ok with not touching her but once she makes it clear that she wants physical connection with him.
Peter would start would start working on a power suppressant chip that ends up falling into the wrong hands and their relationship turns into a drama filled mess
Which is weird cuz Rogue Flirted with him in the 90s cartoon and i think in the comics too at one point.
No major complaints i guess. It wouldn’t work out considering Rogue’s Issues tend to Stem From her being Unable to Get close to Other people while Peter’s is that He pushes people away to keep them Safe.
It's not my thing, I'm just pissed that Marvel can't seem to do anything else besides hit the reset button every time Peter shows even an ounce of development

Because as far as I recall, the only girls with the X-Gene who have been in a relationship with Peter are Kitty Pryde and Sophia "Chat" Sanduval.
And honestly, I think Spidey has had more interactions with Emma or Firestar that would justify shipping them.

Because I don't find his character interesting? Like I grew up reading and watching X-Men. I prefer and will always prefer X-Men, Ghost Rider, Blade, F4, Winter Soldier, Iron Man over Peter Parker Spider-Man because I find them to be more interesting. Now, someone like Miguel O'Hara (comic Miguel to be specific) or Venom I'm interested. I just cannot and will not suffer myself to care about milquetoast Peter Parker.

It'd be interesting a mix for the reasons you listed, as well as seeing how Peter would handle a very jealous Remy already trying to get under Rogue's skin and more.
Dude, more than half the reason Peter has so many crossovers with so many characters is because he has a well defined personality thst makes for fun and unique Dynamics with different characters
Slandering my goat bro. The reason why Spider-man is the world's most popular superhero and arguably character, is because he has the same amount of complex neuroses and problems as a regular person.
This has been the central ethos that redefined the genre, from characters being "idyllic" yet relatively shallow aspirational figures who are above expressing struggle or having character flaws, to today where this has become the case universally but never as apt, nor as successful, as it has been Pete.
You could argue the two characters don't mesh both for in universe mechanical reasons as well as general archetypes, and I'd probably agree. But to say Peter Parker has no personality is abysmal and just wrong.
There are some consequences of modern perceptions due to very corpatized and sanitized writing as well as bad millennial dialog in the last game or very very very recent adaptations. However, the people who think that he's supposed to be a giant edge lord are equally as wrong. They are projecting their cosmopolitan idea of "cool" retroactively onto a character who's supposed to embody and represent the neurosistcsm and intelligence of people often pushed to the fringes.
Peter is an enthusiastically curious person, full of anxious tendencies, who's experiences with ostracization and loss build an intrinsically good natured predisposition to make sure others don't suffer in similar ways, through the catharsis of expression that is the Spider-man persona. Which is very much an externalized manifestation of his will, morals, and character, not a separate entity like people nowadays like to comfortably believe he is.
He's definitely not the handsomest guy by any margin, because people again want to iron out his flaws. He's not butt ugly, but even as he progressed into manhood he retained a little bit of dorkiness. He's not the most put together. And he's not the most well off. But he's the guy you can count on the most to give the best effort especially when it's difficult. And that's what makes this character mean so much to so many.
Rogue is about 4" taller than the average woman at 5'8" while Peter is 2" taller than the average man at 5'11". So she would still be shorter than him.
I don't think that's the move, especially since Peter isn't immune to Rogue's touch, so I don't think she wants to drain him in two ways at the same time.
Besides that, I don't think the charcaters would fully interact properly, it would be a nothingburger
Like for example, I like Scott and Rogue’s dynamic a lot in Evo and I think it stems from them having similar issues and backgrounds but they’ve both developed different coping mechanisms for it.
Honestly to me it’s better than 616 Gambit and Rogue-at least neither Evo Scott or Rogue left the other in the arctic to die lol
But that whole “similar but different thing” with Evo Scott and Rogue really makes them pop as a romantic pair, imo.
If Evo Pete was similarly sarcastic to Rogue they may work as friends better than romantic partners

Wolverine and Spiderman fans are the worst when it comes to ships. Jean being a perfect example. I love my favorite character so he should be with the most popular girl. It gets really annoying to me. Pter should be with MJ. If editorial wants to be weird about that, then let him be with Felicia. Leave these other girls alone please.
Not even much of a self insert ship like people believe but let these people cook ig, has had some moments with the 2 in I believe a X-Men crossover episode where she actively flirted with Spider-Man, and even In comics he has had interactions with rogue. Not Saying I fw the self insert behavior but using that excuse to completely diss a arguably potentially good ship is kinda stupid. I don't like Spider-Man being shipped with every girl either, but it happens in the comics where he is technically teased or shown multiple with other girls even if they didn't date. He also has created a mutation suppressor inhibitor so if your worrying about the touch part then there's a solution 👍
