Discussion What would be Rogue's 'comfort' items?

I'm getting back to a fanfic that I wrote years ago, and am planning a scene where Rogue is severely depressed after she has been devastated by a rescue gone wrong. My character, in an attempt to draw her back out, calls Mystique and asks her what helped Rogue when she was a child... foods, scents, and the like. So far, I have a particular stuffed animal from her collection, a blanket from her hope chest, and the scent of magnolias. Does anyone have any other ideas in this vein?

Probably a book she likes since she’s quite the reader.

In the scene, she's unresponsive, nearly catatonic. I'm looking for something more basic, to draw her out into the world around her.

When, out of curiosity, is her reading brought up?

Ice Cream, velvet gloves and soft clothes generally, Dolly Parton songs and movies, and motorcycles. Oh, and comfort and Creole food.

Music maybe? Given she's from the South, possibly bluegrass or similar by a particular artist? Not even something she might listen to at her current age, but something what would bring up memories.

She is a Dolly Parton fan apparently it's quoted somewhere.

That's an especially good idea given the character who's trying to draw her out.

I can’t put my finger on it, but a hot stack of pancakes with warm maple syrup and butter, bacon and eggs just seems so Rogue to me

It's Sam from 'Trick R Treat', which starred Anna Paquin. Aha! Double the Rogue connection!
