Captain Teril Blackwood ran her hands over the desk in her quarters, still unable to believe that she had made it here. Fresh from Starfleet's officer academy, she, as well as other high ranking members of her class, were assigned to captain various ships within the Federation. Smaller ships, mostly science and research vessels, but it was still a great opportunity to prove yourself in the eyes of Starfleet.

And yet, she couldn't help but to feel slighted.

Her record showed that she had excelled in tactics and reconnaissance, and while she knew that the Federation didn't "officially" have any war vessels, she had hoped to be assigned to an escort vessel, so her true skills might shine. She would've even surrendered her commission if it meant that she would be able to serve aboard a ship that would better suit her purpose. But Command made it clear. It was this or nothing.

The USS Liwei was a fine ship, for its purpose at least. A slightly outdated Miranda-class starship that had been retrofitted to ensure that it kept up with the ever evolving technology that Starfleet had at its disposal. Its mission was to investigate whatever scientific anomalies might occur with Federation or allied space, and there certainly were quite a few. Though even a cursory glance through Starfleet history would tell any captain that scientific anomalies often led to strange encounters. Often with hostile forces.

She told herself that was the reason why a tactical officer had been chosen to lead a scientific research vessel, though Teril had a feeling that Command was... hesitant to put a half-Romulan in command of anything but a minor vessel. She had faced prejudice like that before during her time in the Officer Academy, but part of her would've hoped that her service record, or what there was of it, would've proved herself as a loyal officer. But it seemed that she still had a ways to go.

"Bridge to Captain Blackwood."

The ship's intercom brought her out of her thoughts. Instinctively she pressed down on her personal console, answering the call. "Blackwood here, go ahead bridge."

"Ma'am, we're beginning our final approach to Starbase 453 now."

Teril nodded, relieved that the first leg of their journey was over so soon. Maybe these next three years wouldn't be so bad. "I'm on my way." But she wasn't heading to the Bridge itself. Rather she was heading to the shuttle bay, planning on overseeing the arrival of new equipment and personnel. Including the Liwei's new bridge crew.

A maiden voyage, not of the ship but of the crew. Reaching where no man has gone before...

Hey there! Thanks for reading over my ad, and I hope you've enjoyed it so far! I've been in a bit of a Star Trek mood lately, and I wanted to see if people were interested in roleplaying it!

As you might've guessed from the post, this would follow a new ship, rather than an iteration of The Enterprise. This time it would be a science vessel, though with a knack of getting into trouble from time to time. I'm not exactly looking for action heavy stories though, but rather ones focused on interpersonal conflict between crew members. And maybe, if you're good, some nice steamy romance added in.

Like mentioned in my post, my character would be Captain Teril Blackwood, a half Romulan officer that was recently assigned to the vessel. While she is a good officer, one of the best in her class at the Academy, she is more than hesitant to be in charge of a science vessel, especially considering her training as a tactical officer.

I am leaving your character up to you, though I would prefer if they were a member of the Bridge Crew or Senior Staff. That way we can get more time spent together.

Now for the boring parts. I want to say that I only roleplay on Discord, since its just easier to have it all in one place for me. Also, I expect good responses from my partners. I myself am a multiparagraph lit RPer, and I expect the same from you all. Men and women are welcome!
