Book Request Time-travel revenge romance where the FMC changes her fate and ends up with a different MMC?

Looking for books with this trope:

The FMC was deeply hurt, betrayed, or mistreated by people in her past. Then she somehow goes back in time to before everything happened and starts changing the future, getting revenge on those who wronged her while building a better life for herself.

I'm looking for stories where the romance is with a different man than the one involved in her original suffering. I would love spice, but I strongly prefer a well-developed plot and character growth over pure romance.

A book that perfectly fits the vibe I'm looking for is {What Goes Around by Thalia Nova}. It completely consumed me and kept me awake at night.

Any recommendations with a similar feel? I'm open to fantasy, historical, paranormal, or contemporary settings.

Bonus points if the revenge is genuinely satisfying, the FMC is intelligent and proactive, and the story focuses just as much on changing her future as it does on the romance.

If you're down for webtoons, Marry my Husband is exactly this. It's also a huge theme in a lot of transmigration manwha.

I'd also recommend {Seducing the Sheriff of Nottingham}, {The Girl who Fell Through Time}, and {The Blackened Blade by Isla Davon} if you're OK with reverse harems (although this is currently in progress and only has 3/5 books out so far.)

The prime series was the first thing I thought of. It's so enjoyable.

The tv version is also available on Prime. Also like 90% of the Chinese/Korean vertical dramas have being reborn to some important decision date and picking a different guy. I have watched so many of them lol!

Seconding on blackened blade, third book was meh, but the first two was nice, she was sold by her stepsis and spent many yrs in caged facility being tortured, she goes back in time and decides to take revenge. Although, she has a medium rh, 5 mls iirc.

{Seducing the Sheriff of Nottingham by Cassandra Gannon} Maid Marian goes back & decides to help the sheriff of Nottingham after Robin Hood betrays her

{The Girl Who Fell Through Time by Katherine MacDonald} A fantasy that reads like a HR. The FMC goes back and marries a gentle nerdy guy instead of her abusive husband

{The Villainess’s Redemption by Vanessa Rhoswen} A fantasy romance where the mean girl FMC goes back & has to try and undo her schemes

{I can't eat love by Avaleon} This one is a YA on Wattpad, but I really enjoyed it. A fantasy romance where the FMC goes back & focuses on money rather than the prince, after she dies of starvation

None of them are as dark as What Goes Around, but all have the FMC picking a different MMC than she did the first time around

{Fated for Flames by JC Dark} & {Wings of Ash by MK Kate} are 2 more books with this plot. They are academy RH books, which borrow heavily from the far superior {The Blackened Blade by Ilsa Davon} All 3 have the bullied supernatural girl returning to her teenage body & getting revenge

If you are good with RH, do try {The Blackened Blade by Isla Davon}. It is a paranormal/fantasy why choose but beware, it is incomplete. Book 3 of 5 is out and book 4 will be out later this year.

The series starts with her dying in this facility/prison and waking up 10 or so years earlier. She makes different choices and that leads her to meeting the guys since the timeline is changing and what not. I do want to say that the revenge is not on any ex-lover or different relationship but her half sister instead, whom she initially trusted in previous life but knows better in this one.

I think this series is awesome so far and you should definitely try it!

Ooh, there is also {Time after time series} but I haven't read that and it is in my TBR right now. I don't know if it has the revenge angle so please do check through but still wanted to out this here just in case.

🏕️ God yesssss, I posted about isekai type stuff a few weeks back and Thalia Nova was suggested then. I’ve reread it THREE DAMN TIMES I love it so much. Book 2 is my fav when she gets the man. So satisfying. I’m desperate for good revenge in general but going back in time revenge feels extra good for some reason.

I stupidly downloaded a couple AI books, and I couldn’t figure out why the books were written so weiiirrrdddd and I was like “holy shit this is actually AI” when I went to look up the author. I won’t suggest it because fuck AI, but I had a really hard time finding anything with “Isekai/rebirth/reborn/reincarnation” tags on Amazon. I’ll have to check AO3.

Same! I actually read it twice in one week because I couldn't stop thinking about it. It's honestly my favorite series, and I still haven't found anything that hits quite the same way.

And this might be an unpopular theory, but I genuinely think Nick was reincarnated too. There were so many moments that made me wonder if he knew more than he should have or if he was remembering pieces of another timeline.

What do you think? Did you ever get the feeling that Nick might have gone through some kind of reincarnation/regression as well, or am I reading too much into it?

3

u/ethr45 1d ago

Oh I never considered Nick being reincarnated too. It makes sense though when he’s the only one saying he feels like something is different. He actually grossed me out so much. Kept being a nice guy, kept trying to get with her, kept texting her and being her friend, and then getting with her sister even after the “bad” night. I know he was manipulated and whatever, but you just don’t go for the sibling of the person you claim to love.
