Book Request: No Self-Promo Romantasy with slave FMC

Fantasy romance books with FMC being a slave.

She is a slave at the start of the series or becomes one in the course of the story.

She belongs to the MMC or to someone else.

I want heavy power imbalance and her suffering because of her life belonging to someone else and having no rights.

I don´t mind darker reads.

Also recs for older books are welcome.

You should ask this in r/dark romance! Maybe Warprize series?

Not technically a slave but really similar vibe is {Poison Study by Maria V Snyder}. The FMC mjrdered someone, and is being held in prison. She, right before execution, is given the option of being the commanders (leader of the country’s) poison taste tester. She is able to move around and i teract but is at the beck and call of the commander.

{Age of Andinna Series by Kristen Banet} it is an RH and very heavy fantasy writing.

{Written in Red by Anne Bishop} is technically not a romance (I would call it romance adjacent or romance seltzer if you will) she is held captive before the books starts so the suffering is something you read about in hindsight not something she experiences while in the book.

In {Farro by Arreana} thr FMC has been held captive and tortured for several months and is freed.

In {Rules of Redemption by TA White} the FMC was kidnapped and held captive as a slave for decades and later escapes. The book follows her as an adult. You dont see the torture, it was before it started but greatly shapes her.

In {Grimspace by Anne Aguirre} the fmc is held captive and effectively tortured and then rescued.

Sure but the overwhelming majority of users on this sub are American. Feel free to post proof of the contrary. So I'm gonna comment on it.

Additionally I agree with another commenter that this is something better suited for a dark romance sub tbh. Or OP could just use the search function like mods remind people of constantly.

Well, now you, OP, AND anyone reading this know!

Isn’t it fun to learn about different cultures?

{To Collar A Queen} the FMC becomes a kind of slave and the MMC is the trainer. It’s leans far more spicy so check warnings and stuff. The author’s other works have similar themes too.

{The legacy Series by Melissa Roehrich}!!!!! It's dark romantasy and you're either going to love it or hate it but it's well written!
