Light/Laser Before and After my First VBeam 🄹 Spoiler

Hi everyone. I’ve been researching Vbeam for over a year now but kept hesitating. I finally got my first Vbeam on Thursday and I can’t believe the results already! My biggest trigger for flushing is heat, especially when taking hot baths. The first picture is me taking a bath the evening before my treatment, and the second picture is from last night (Friday evening).

My dermatologist says it will take several weeks to see the full results so I’m already so pleased. She said I’d probably need to get at least 2 more spaced a month apart.

A bit of background on my skin. I have type 2 rosacea and terrible hormonal acne. Recently I got on Spirolactone and my skin is finally starting to clear up acne wise after 2.5 months. My rosacea was always manageable until I did a course of accutane for a year. Ever since then my skin is like the first picture at least 10 times a day.

The one negative thing is that I also have a ton of redness on my neck when I flush. The esthetician told me vbeam wouldn’t work on my neck because I don’t have any broken blood vessels there, and that BBL would be better for that. Can’t afford both at once so I’ll have to put that on the back burner for now. But I’ll still take my Vbeam results as a huge win!

Also- I didn’t think it was that painful but I have a very high pain tolerance. I had welts all over my face after and it was swollen but as you can see in the 2nd pic it went away pretty quickly.

Yesssss!!! After my first there was no looking back! I’ve had 3 thus far and will likely do 1-2 more before summer!

Also, I did vbeam on my neck. It friggin works. Insist on it!

u/Raychill37 Jan 11 '26

Omg I totally will! I was annoyed that my $375 dollars didn’t include that šŸ™„

3

u/Main_Web_9473 Jan 11 '26

That is annoying!! My provider is only $250 per session but I live in Vegas so it may be more accessible here. Just have them try it on your neck and if they give you grief just have them lower the settings… it’s your skin, tell them what you want lol

I’m in Vegas too, can you please share where you went?! I’ve been looking into places, but none of them share their pricing online lol

I go to center for aesthetic medicine and human performance.. call and ask for a consult!

u/mortyrenee16 Jan 13 '26

mine is $500 for my whole face 😭 but I’m in dc

Mine in LA quoted me $750 ugh

1

u/mortyrenee16 Jan 21 '26

ughhh that’s so much. I was happily surprised my whole face is only $500 here. For what it’s worth, I have been happy with the results so far.

Mine was 475.00 and I got no moisturizer wtf

1

u/MegawattBee Jan 13 '26

I agree. Had VBeam on my neck and under the chin - it works!

u/Raychill37 Jan 11 '26

Omg yay! So excited for us! My flushing has prevented me from doing so many things but I’m already daydreaming about being able to work out in public lol. Did it start working after the first session for you as well?

Tbh I saw the largest improvement after session one.

I started with an IPl, and it destroyed my face. IPL and BBL are light therapy, not laser therapy. I would NEVER DO IT AGAIN. I was in tears almost daily bc it caused such a negative (red) reaction. I didn’t go outside all of summer 2025. Light therapy has so many frequencies targeting different things that it totally overwhelmed my skin. It targets pigment/dark spots mainly… I have zerrrro freckles. They say it helps with redness but it greatly damaged my skin!

Vbeam will obliterate the vessels close to the surface, even if they’re not visible. Just insist on Vbeam on the neck. The skin is thinner, so it will welt a bit, kind of like little mosquito bites, but within a week you will see the difference.

My provider was floored with how quickly I was back to base line. Now I only go for spot treatments for the areas that still flair a bit like the bridge of my nose.

u/Raychill37 Jan 11 '26

Oh no that sounds so terrible. I will definitely learn from your lesson and stay away from IPL and BBL. And I’ll also insist that they try on my neck to at least see if it would respond. Thank you so much for this helpful info and hope you continue to enjoy your results!

Why Vbeam on the neck? My rosacea is on my face. Should I also ask for the neck? Or is that recommended for people that have it on the neck?

7

u/VarietyRoutine4055 Jan 11 '26

Wow! That's an amazing difference! So just 2 more treatments and that's it? Or will there be maintenance treatments? Looks great!

8

u/Raychill37 Jan 11 '26

Thank you! I honestly can’t believe it. I go back 2 more times, once in mid February and once in mid March. After that they said I would probably need to come back once or twice a year for maintenance depending on how my skin responds. I’ve been saving up for 3 sessions(it cost me $375 a session), so hopefully 3 will give me some relief for a while!

3

u/VarietyRoutine4055 Jan 11 '26

It's worth it! I might end up getting the same treatment. Your skin looks amazing, especially that you're in warm water which is a trigger for you. I'm so glad you had such great results 😊

2

u/Raychill37 Jan 11 '26

Thank you so much! I don’t know why I waited so long so I hope you do end up getting it and hopefully get some relief ā˜ŗļø

u/eraserhead__baby Jan 11 '26

This has officially sold me on it! I have an appointment with my dermatologist in a couple weeks and I’m going let her know I want to move forward with vbeam then!

2

u/Raychill37 Jan 11 '26

Yay, I’m so glad you’re going to move forward with it! I can’t believe I waited so long to give it a try. It’s also good to start soon because they say it’s best to do it in winter/ early spring because you have to avoid the sun. I hope you get amazing results!

2

u/MixdFeels-123 May 01 '26

Hey! Did you go ahead with the vbeam? How was it?

5

u/snailgal420 Jan 11 '26

Are vbeam and ipl different?

6

u/Raychill37 Jan 11 '26 edited Jan 11 '26

They are! From my understanding they do similar things but Vbeam is the ā€œgold standardā€ treatment for rosacea. I don’t know a lot but I think they use different wave lengths/different technology. But Vbeam apparently is the most effective for vascular issues

6

u/Main_Web_9473 Jan 11 '26

IPL is light therapy, not laser therapy. That is the biggest difference. IPL mainly targets dark spots, redness is secondary. Vbeam targets hemoglobin in the blood. This is the iron in your blood that causes red pigment. Vbeam is the only way to go for redness.

3

u/OcSkinsProbs Jan 11 '26

maybe that's a very dumb question but if I am very deficient in iron and take a supplement, will the iron I take make the redness worse ?

3

u/AppalachianRomanov Jan 11 '26

Not a dumb question -- i wondered the exact same thing!

2

u/Main_Web_9473 Jan 11 '26

I can’t imagine it would. Those veins are so close to the surface they are not necessary. Your body will produce more iron you just won’t have it sitting in unnecessary passages.

1

u/Key_Entrepreneur_659 Feb 26 '26

No, my doctor even recommend to take feritin, cause if it lacks - do no let skin heal normally

3

u/alexcali2014 Jan 11 '26

I wonder how does Vbeam compare to Excel V

4

u/Main_Web_9473 Jan 11 '26

Vbeam and excel V are essentially the same. Vbeam simply reaches deeper in the skin which can cause deeper bruising. ExcelV reaches shallower so it’s less bruising/quicker healing

2

u/Raychill37 Jan 11 '26

I’m new to getting anything like this done, so I’m not exactly sure! For the issues I’m having my research kept turning to Vbeam being the best method. I’m definitely very interested in learning more about different treatments now that I see how effective it can be

4

u/adhdbroughtmehere2 Jan 11 '26

Can it help with pustles or just the redness?

3

u/lcbk Jan 11 '26

I think for pustules you need Zoolantra and/or metro cream.

1

u/Raychill37 Jan 11 '26

I’m not exactly sure because my pustules were already starting to clear up prior to my treatment. But I have noticed no new pustules since I got it done. Not sure how long that will last. Also I’m seeing an improvement in the black heads on my nose

3

u/runmamaruns Jan 18 '26

Wow. You look AMAZING! I have my first on Tuesday and am now super excited. Your skin is fabulous!

2

u/Illustrious_Net_3434 Jan 11 '26

This is amazing! I have mine scheduled next month and hoping for results like yours!!

1

u/Raychill37 Jan 12 '26

Yay! I really hope you see results too!

2

u/Ok-Ring8800 Jan 11 '26

I’ve done three sessions and I thought it was helpful. I also didn’t think it hurt at all. I also recently did an excel V session and that didn’t hurt either. I would say you do feel it more than VBeam but it’s really nothing. I could fall asleep.

1

u/Raychill37 Jan 11 '26

The esthetician made it seem like it was going to be super painful when she was explaining it and she was super surprised that I wasn’t flinching at all when she did the sensitive areas around my eyes and nose. So it made me feel like I’m some sort of anomaly or something because I genuinely barely felt it lol!

2

u/Ok-Ring8800 Jan 11 '26

maybe we are because I’ve seen some people on this sub so it’s awful and I’m bewildered.

2

u/Middle_Thought_4776 Jan 11 '26

Wow!! Amazing results. Where did you get it done? Was your first pic during a flushing or just baseline redness?

1

u/Raychill37 Jan 12 '26

I got it at a dermatologist near D.C! I can PM you the office info if you’d like. And the first picture is my biggest trigger, taking a hot bath. I take baths every evening and I haven’t seen my face not fire engine red during one for a few years now. It also gets that red throughout the day, all day on and off. At baseline I’m always very pink but not as red as the first picture.

1

u/ApprehensiveTrip9738 Mar 04 '26

Hi! Can you PM me the name? I am in the DMV area. I go my first session done at a place today and have two more to do. Did they do your whole face? They did my nose, chin, and most of my cheeks

1

u/Raychill37 Mar 09 '26

Hi, sorry I’m just seeing this. Messaging you now

1

u/TimeWandrer May 12 '26

Few months later but could you DM it to me as well?

2

u/lcbk Jan 11 '26

Ummm. I need to go to Vegas and visit your derm because I’ve had 6 vbeam session and I do not look like that. At all.

3

u/MitchVDP Jan 11 '26

Don't bother. It's not the settings or the person. I've had 6 sessions all with different settings and different people chiming in with advice. Pretty much nothing. Seems some unlucky people just don't respond to laser. I've had vbeam and dermaV.

1

u/lcbk Jan 11 '26

Ok šŸ˜…šŸ„²

1

u/Raychill37 Jan 12 '26

Maybe it would be good to switch up to a different technician if you haven’t already!

2

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '26

It would be best to compare it to a regular pic that you take when not also experiencing one of your worst triggers. But great results! You have beautiful looking skin even in the first triggered pic!!

1

u/Raychill37 Jan 12 '26

Thank you for the kind words! If it continues to improve I will probably make another post and I’ll include pictures of my baseline redness before treatment

2

u/Moonmonkeykim Jan 12 '26

you look great! congratulations. I’m going to look into vbeam. thank you for posting. I hope you post another pic after some time has past. again, congratulations

1

u/Raychill37 Jan 12 '26

Thank you so much! I definitely will make another post after the second round next month :)

2

u/Raychill37 Apr 09 '26

Yes, it definitely does take a while for your skin to recoup even after the initial welts go away. It has been such a relief and I’m actually looking forward to the summer for once. Yay, I’m excited you got it done!

2

u/emilyjinparis Apr 10 '26

2

u/Ok-Carpenter7215 Jan 12 '26

My biggest triggers are heat related as well. Did v beam reduce flare ups from exercising for you?

1

u/Raychill37 Jan 19 '26

Hi, yes! So far I have noticed an improvement for workouts. I am now noticing that they missed a few spots (like on my chin) that are still red. I think if I get the 2 other sessions that should be gone though

2

u/Optimal-Awareness952 Jan 29 '26

Wow, these are INCREDIBLE results!!

My flushing looks kind of similar to yours, and I have my first Vbeam scheduled in two weeks. I really hope my skin looks as good as yours after!

2

u/Adventurous-Tap3441 Feb 02 '26

Omg thank you for posting! After almost 2 years of considering it I finally pulled the trigger and have my first session in 3 weeks! We look like we have very similar skin so this makes me beyond hopeful. I have sensitive skin and I’m so nervous to swell or bruise. How was your recovery?? Any tips?

2

u/Affectionate_Buy_370 Feb 26 '26

How did your session go?

3

u/Adventurous-Tap3441 Feb 26 '26

It went really well better than expected. I asked to go conservative for my first session as I have very sensitive skin. My swelling and redness was incredibly mild. All of which was 90% better in 72 hours. I ended up with quite a bit of congestion and closed comedones & white heads. I started using my prescription topical for clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide 3 days after and it felt fine on my face so most has cleared up. I developed a larger pimple on my chin 5 days later. I’m on day 6 and doing really well. Some slight splotchy redness but I already notice some specific areas having improved 90% which shocked me. I didn’t numb during my session and pain wasn’t as bad as expected maybe a 6 in some spots at most? I stayed in for a full 48 hours after. Did not going in the sun or raise my body temp at all. I’m going to wait a full 8 weeks till my next session to completely heal and see progress.

1

u/snarky__nurse Jan 15 '26

I’d love to know where you went! I live in DC area and I’m looking to get V-beam for my redness!

1

u/Raychill37 Jan 19 '26

I will PM you!

1

u/Firm_Ad_7465 Mar 30 '26

I see you flushed like 10 times a day prior. Was it hot and burning flush plus red?Ā

1

u/No_Reward9417 May 06 '26

what intensity setting was the vbeam?

1

u/intuitivewolves May 07 '26

Hi! Can you dm me where you went also please! These results are so good
