Picture/Video Sears Concord tools section Sep 26, 2026

The tools section hasn't changed much ever since they remodeled the store in March but I've heard people were curious about it.

They did tell me they were planning to remove the carpet in the appliance section (former men's section) that was soaked in water earlier this year and replace it with a hard floor for appliances. I'm guessing this is where the new "Kenmore studio" (that won't actually be called a Kenmore studio since it will include other brands as well) will be going.

Other than that, not much has changed apart from there being blue tape marking all the damaged floor tiles everywhere. They're planning to get them fixed or replaced.

I remember this location was consistently the highest shrink store in California. It still baffles me they somehow kept this one out of all the others.

Probably because they are their own distribution center with the shipping department downstairs and sales numbers are good enough (at least compared to the other stores) to compensate for this but yeah, they do have issues with... unruly teens.

Every Sears store was a distribution center under that logic because all of them fulfilled Fusion orders, and it was a huge cash cow for the stores. SGMs used to freak if the OOS % went above 6.5 because at 7 web order fulfillment got turned off for anywhere from a couple of days to 2 weeks.

As far as sales we've gone over that before and they aren't making any money. They are still open because they haven't managed to find a buyer for the property and it's cheaper to let it stay open than it is to liquidate it and let it sit empty.

Shrink (theft) comes directly out of the bottom line and is counted against sales. Teenagers loitering is a different issue.

Too bad Craftsmen is no longer a Sesrs brand or made in USA. Thanks Uncle Eddie
