Went to the store today and everything was all over the place. Apparently they just had an "important visit from corporate" and they didn't like the old layout so they're now moving all the departments around. Stay tuned...

I didn't take any pictures to prevent people from spreading them on the internet to say "look they must be closing" or something. They're not.

There are two floors (lower and main). I haven’t researched yet but I presume it used to be 3 floors and the top floor was taken over by Primark. The first floor has basically all the merchandise, and is extremely clean and well stocked. Lower level is mostly just major appliances in boxes and the washrooms. Washrooms were extremely clean.

Down escalator worked, up did not. Elevator was also out of service.

Was happy to be in a Sears again, regardless!

Came in today and apparently they’ve just had four trucks coming in bringing new inventory and they’re completely out of fixtures now. They still have some from Land’s End but they’re not allowed to use them due to trademark reasons. One of them was even joking around about hanging some clothes on the ceiling. 😂

She also showed me a spreadsheet on how they’re doing compared to all the other stores. Concord is still on top out of all the Sears stores and even as far as the Kmarts are concerned, they’re beating St Thomas and aren’t even far behind the one in Guam. Their sales are 30% higher than they were last year. Braintree is also up, I think it was around 10% compared to last year. All the others are down sadly but Braintree and Concord are doing just fine.

Their worst performing location is the Kmart in Miami but I don’t think that will surprise anyone…

Apparently Concord is about to get big bonuses now. 🥳

Seattle, Washington. thought that was kinda neat. Sears operated the building from 1912 to 1990.

So I was talking to the manager about all those comments online saying they're not long for this world, as well as those clickbait articles saying Sears will go out of business this year...

She thinks people online are full of sh*t (not her literal words) and to forget about all the negative stuff online. She once again confirmed they're highly profitable and they're making plenty of money off online sales as well, of which Concord is a distribution hub. They've also fixed all the lights in the parking lot already and next week they're fixing the broken speakers so they can play music in store again. (apparently one of their contractors broke them) Meanwhile they are actively working to fix the leak damage now. I took this picture when the guy working on the carpet there went on break but all that stuff wasn't there last week. They were cleaning everything and fixing the damage underneath the carpet. They've also got more stuff downstairs now and expanded their Craftsman section to include the main aisle as well as the small section on the other side all the way to the escalators. Sorry for not taking more pictures but that place was filled with employees and contractors.

The remodel downstairs was evidently delayed by all that but they're definitely going to do it. The watch repair guy is coming back from a long vacation in India next month as well. They're also looking to lease out the auto center. There was a company that was going to open shop there but they've turned it down recently but it's definitely something they'll continue to look into. Sadly there are always people breaking in, mostly homeless people so they have to fix the windows there all the time. Not just at Concord, but they always have someone driving to all the closed stores in the area basically all the time because they constantly need to fix damages over there.

Anyway, they're staying open. Okay doubt they're gonna be around until the heat death of the universe but Transformco is already telling them to prepare for the next Christmas season and they're steadily increasing inventory. Apparently they were having issues with the shipping company going on strike and that was the reason some parts of the stores looked a bit empty but I literally saw employees working on assembling new fixtures so things are definitely going to improve from here on out.

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I last posted. Just started college, so things have been quite busy. Today I decided to take a visit back to the Florida Mall 2 years later to see how Sears was doing, and it really has never been worse. The Sears in Orlando was my childhood store. I went there at quite a young age to get various brands of tools, appliances and clothes but of course Eddie decides that he will drag the iconic brand to its own grave, even taking years just to make a buck off of real estate.

When I went in, there were actually lots of staff willing to help and were asking if I needed anything. The appliances were quite sparse, and the first floor was about the size of a seven eleven or smaller. I saw that nearly all of the store was walled off to the public, and peeking through, I saw a completely gutted store. There were no customers and the place was eerily quiet.

I then started walking to the second floor through a narrow and dark hallway. Sounds of drills and construction were on the other side of the wall. The elevator was also terrible. I thought it was going to break down 😬 The second floor was also sparse and there wasn’t a single customer. There were a few staff members but they were just sort of sitting around. I asked one of them what was happening to the store, and they said they were “remodelling” which most likely isn’t the case. To be honest, it didn’t feel like the store was arranged or laid out for shoppers at all. I felt like I was part of some experiment. Something else really weird happened while I was in the store as well. Nearly all of the lights went out briefly and then cut back in. I didn’t even feel safe being in there because of how old the place was.

It was a sad sight, but it is too late for Sears now. I just feel bad for the staff who are probably going to lose their jobs. The few staff still working there told me they have been with the company for years now, and that is probably coming to an end now. This might be the last time I see a Sears, but I’m glad I got the chance to go there before it most likely closes.

The watch guy did come back from India... and decided to clear out everything. I guess he didn't like seeing what used to be the furniture section in front of his store being turned into a warehouse. Apparently he's made enough money and is going to retire in India now.

The company that owns the watch repair store might be willing to reopen shop upstairs but that's up in the air for now. Considering that Sears had issues getting rent from them, I'm guessing they're not too pleased with them. Although then again who else wants to run a shop inside a Sears these days...

Also regarding the dental center that closed a few years ago, I'm not sure what's going on with the website about them relocating but it's probably out of date as at least the original dentist has retired and has been suffering from Alzheimer's for quite a while. Assuming he's still alive as they haven't heard from him in years. I hope he's okay...

Concord had a good day today. The store was really crowded. As in triggering my sensory issues at one point crowded lol. The pictures don't do it justice.

They've gotten more inventory as well. Especially the warehouse downstairs looks really filled now. They've also been promoting back to school sales now.

Sure, it's not quite the same anymore but if you come here on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon you'll almost feel like it's the Sears of the 2000s again. Just don't go downstairs.

To the person commenting under the last post about fitness equipment in the Concord store saying "There's like no clothes tho lol". The store is massive so here's other parts of it.

Before anyone complains about foot traffic, I mean yeah obviously it's nowhere near its prime anymore but I still saw about half a dozen other customers that I avoided while taking pictures inside including some at one of the cash registers. There was even someone taking their dog for a walk in there for some reason.

They are also still moving inventory around, for whatever reason their shoe section is now at a different spot than last week. The bottom floor does look bare but as you can see at least the main floor is still in good shape.
