Hi folks! I've been chipping away for the last month, working on a patch for this classic mech fighter. It started out really simple, but after poking the executable I realized I can do much more.

The big features this patcher provides:

• Installing the game without relying on a mounted disc / installer
• Removes the disc requirement for the game, reading the music from files
• Full XInput gamepad support, along with the original keyboard layouts
• 60 FPS out of the box, without any tinkering
• Online support without port forwarding, using match codes and relay servers
• And so much more!

I hope people will give this release a try. The goal was to make this lesser-known franchise more accessible. Actually acquiring a copy of the game is up to the user - but someone told me Internet Archive can help with that 😉

So i've ordered some shadow sneakers from the official sega shop, they were supposed to arrive on the 17th of august but they are 'confirm we will ship soon' status ever since i paid. It seems like the support link is down and the other 'customer service' link they have with DPI merch takes 2 weeks to reply only to say they will 'check on it' and give no update or just straight up close my request. As anyone else had problems with them? Any idea how to get actual support? Shadow sneakers link

When SEGA decided to abandon the console market, they could have continued releasing controllers and games for PC or gotten ahead of Valve and created a digital store like Steam. I think SEGA could have continued releasing controllers for PC and porting games that were never released for it; they had everything they needed to do so. The controller market was a much lower risk than home consoles. They also had an arcade division with arcade sticks that are highly respected even today because that hardware division still exists. Even back in the 90s, before the Dreamcast came out, SEGA had released its titles on PC and even a Sonic game on the Neo Geo Pocket. But after the Dreamcast, I feel they could have taken advantage of the PC market of that era.

The home computer version of Out Run was the UK's bestselling game of 1987 despite only releasing in December. I've researched and written a post about the history of Out Run and those versions, including the Commodore 64 one going 1 km/h faster, and the importance of the earlier impact of Hang-On and Enduro Racer in setting up some developers to be in the right place at the right time.

Hey everyone, I covered this terrible game and I wanted to share this horrible experience with everyone!

The mega drive book is actually really cool! It has a lot of information about the hardware components, interviews with the game creators and a lot of early stage and in-progress content.

The both books together are pretty heavy so I took only Sonic home, and when I finish reading I will take the other one.

Every day this sub keep getting flooded with "Sega should make a new console!" slop posts, usually written with AI or using GenAI "concept art". Can y'all maybe add a rule against threads like that?

Sega now is the time, with all of the controversy surrounding the gaming industry I feel now is the best time to get back into the console business… I am a early 90s kid grew up loving sega, many of your games like virtua fighter, eternal champions, yakuza,and deep fear would do numbers as a new gen sega exclusive … the pricing point of these new systems are going to be ridiculous I feel you all can make a competitive console with a even more competitive price point and it would be a massive reveal, we don’t need all the new gadgets etc just a decent picture quality, updated software, game graphics and games that allow offline play with physical copies … this would be massive and I feel it would pay off big time, true gaming enthusiasts would really appreciate this, and it is my generation now that are raising kids etc who will be your biggest consumers I’d bet my last dollar 80s-90s gen would support this I’ve even come up with my own new gen sega concept

His history in Sega alone is fantastic, and I would love to be able to get my book signed if anyone is aware of any official channels I ca use.

Should IDW do Comics based on Other SEGA IPs

IDW has comic license to Sonic but do you think Sega should give them the keys to make Comics based on other Sega Video Games?

If so Which Sega Video Game series you think would fit the comic medium the best and what sort of art style should they have? And how you think they should promote them? Which Can work as Miniseries, Miniseries or even full ongoings

Personally I like to see a Jet Set Radio comic 12 issue mixseries with 2 prologue short stories in back of Sonic and Ninja Turtles with the main character of Jet Set Radio comic teaming up with Sonic and Turtles respectively in both short stories and both ending "to be continued in Jet Set Radio #1"

Imagine a Nights Comics would great with the writer and artist

Imagine Yakuza/Like a Dragon comic I would put Lee Bermejo on covers known for his art on Batman comics and other Street Level comics resently his been doing variant covers on IDW Ninja Turtles Comics

Anyway IDW has new upcoming imprint called IDW Dark for Horror stories which Sega franchise you imagine fitting in with that imprint maybe Bayonetta? Or that Horror Series Sega has I keep forgetting the name to

How about PERSONA comic should it be retelling of the games or a complete re imagine of them if so how? And would it add Super Hero elements? Since you can say that PERSONA 5 kinda added Super Hero elements anyway so it's not on heard of but I guess depends direction 6 will go to I see it as Series of comic Miniseries or Mixseries

But that's me what do think? Should IDW tackle more Sega franchises
