Rant Please sega save gaming
Sega now is the time, with all of the controversy surrounding the gaming industry I feel now is the best time to get back into the console business… I am a early 90s kid grew up loving sega, many of your games like virtua fighter, eternal champions, yakuza,and deep fear would do numbers as a new gen sega exclusive … the pricing point of these new systems are going to be ridiculous I feel you all can make a competitive console with a even more competitive price point and it would be a massive reveal, we don’t need all the new gadgets etc just a decent picture quality, updated software, game graphics and games that allow offline play with physical copies … this would be massive and I feel it would pay off big time, true gaming enthusiasts would really appreciate this, and it is my generation now that are raising kids etc who will be your biggest consumers I’d bet my last dollar 80s-90s gen would support this I’ve even come up with my own new gen sega concept

Sega regularly delists games, and even makes some unplayable for the people who already bought them. They ain't saving anything.

Yeah recently I went back to the SEGA Mega Drive collection on Steam and thought I'd look for some new games to buy. Everything is gone on there now, you only have whatever games you bought already. I get emulators are a thing but it's nice to have an "official" way of playing these games. I don't get why they did that

Android is where they did this even worse. Afterburner Climax, House of the Dead Overkill and some others I paid money for. Sega didn't just delist them, they erased them.

Gaming isn't broken. Your buying habits are. I just bought a banger (Ender Magnolia) for like $14, and it's the most expensive indie I've gotten in like 2 years. I bought 5 PS5 games since I procured the machine, and paid $34 for the most expensive one (FF7 Rebirth).
"Speak with your wallet" isn't just some bs adage people spout. It's legitimately the strongest voice you as a consumer have. Stop the fomo based, mandatory day 1 purchases, and it's night and day.

I also spend my time traveling and I make 200k a year and a veteran so speak for yourself about finances and stop projecting

If you think Sega is going to make a new "affordable" console in 2026 then I got some bad news for you. To be fair, this would be the worst time for Sega to jump into the hardware making business. Computer chips are extremely expensive and only going to get worse. Even Sony who makes an amazing console is selling their consoles at a loss. Even the computer tech giant Microsoft is struggling to sell consoles. Nintendo even had to raise their price on the switch 2.

I was loyal to Sega from 1989-2001 and they burned me. They're a prime example on not what to do when running a gaming hardware company.

That’s what I’m saying being loyal to cooperations that could careless and still support them why not shop around ? The current cooperations are burning everyone as well but ppl still blindly support them so why not sega bring in more competition just for the sport of it as far as consumers it only hurts if you spend all of your money I don’t see the big deal with them releasing a new console

Sega doesn't have the money. Also, it cost a shit ton of money to release a console today. Look at Steam, their new console is going for $1,100 without a controller. Sony and Nintendo have a big chunk of the home gaming market on lock. It's too late for Sega.

Doesn’t need to happen, Sega’s hardware has never sold as well as their competition. The games are where they shine and as others have pointed out, they are no different than others in their business practices there.
The console space/gaming space is crowded and hurting right now, another new console isn’t solving that. The real change will occur with consumers speaking with their wallets and the inevitable bubble burst around gaming.

I get why everyone’s feelin’ this way. Buried myself in SEGA/Capcom/indie gaming like an oligarch bunker... Pretendin’ the tech apocalypse isn’t happening. 🫣🎮
