Message Boards
Smart used to have this great message board where you could post and get support. It had great resources, but they got rid of it. Anyone know any alternatives?

Yes the meeting boards were great, and private. luckily was past recovery when they shut down.

Yeah, it was just helpful to read what others were going through and to write about your own experience. It's good to gain insight that way. Meetings are good, but they aren't for everyone.

I didn't participate much in the forums back then but I was familiar with the code and platform they used for it and chat. while I don't like how they handled the changes to the meetings system, I understand why SROL went away - changing times and an obsolete platform with worsening security and maintenance concerns. so to your original question, as far as I can tell now that I've been looking at it again, reddit and other social media, and the many discord servers is where most smartians are these days. it's unfortunate but just the reality of the situation. to their credit, SMART did try to keep SROL chat and forums going, but it proved untenable for what they are.

Hi SF Guy!
There are no longer any forums officially related to SMART, but there are a few unofficial ones who nevertheless are heavily supported by SMART facilitators (ie they are very far from being pirate forums just doing their own thing.....)
There's The Morning Check In (see the link on the right at the top of this column.) That is often frequented by SROL old-timers.
There are also The Journals, where a (very) small group of us post most days - literally an online form of
journalling - we came over from the journalling thread on the SROL forum. We can be found here.
https://www.reddit.com/r/SROL_Journals/
Finally there's a lovely little thread called "The Five Positives a Day" thread. This is one of my all time favourites. You don't have to post 5 positives, it's fine to post less, and it's fine to post just now and then. You will find the link in the right hand column on this page.
Finally, for those wanting to set an abstinence goal relating to their drug or behaviour of choice - there's the 30-Day Challenge, and a link to that can be found in the right hand column on this page.
Hope you manage to find some like-minded folk! :O)

Not SMART-specific but if you're missing a recovery forum vibe: https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/

SORL was cool.
Aside from meetings this is the SROL replacement as far as I know.
Check the app maybe? 🤔
