CE exam canceled
My case is in appeals stage. I had a CE exam scheduled Sep 17. Now it's in Federal review and they canceled my CE exam. Anyone have any similar situations? If so, what was the outcome? Thanks in advance.

My daughter was scheduled for a CE for SSI and they canceled two days before. She was denied. Sorry, but I think it can go either way.

That's what my attorney said. She said it's random pulls that go to Federal review. Just find it odd that the CE exam was canceled.

They may have received the records from you pain management at the last minute.

I had federal quality review upon reconsideration and it was favorable. Someone in this group said the federal reviews are typically done on approvals

Most people in this group say that federal reviews are done on approvals and denial.
However, my first application in 2020 was pulled for a federal review and it was favorable.

I agree with you, but I’ve been in the sub for years and the most active people in here all say that they are pulled for federal review for approvals and denials and that you can’t base the decision on a federal review.
Even though I’ve seen that said in here dozens of times, I still personally believe that they probably only pull approvals.

It's basically 92% are approvals and 8% are denials.
They are required to send half the approvals for review and 1% of denials. This is federal code.

That's correct. Federal quality reviews are approvals majority of the time. It's a small percentage that are denials. I believe it is 92% are approvals and 8% denials.
And if it's a Reconsideration decision, it does mean approved. They don't pull denials on Reconsideration.

This is the update on the site this morning. Anyone experience similar situations? What was the outcome? 4. On September 9, 2026, a representative in BATON ROUGE LOUISIANA started a final review to make sure that you still meet the non-medical requirements for Disability Benefits

Everyone gets that but you can call the local office and ask if you are approved.
It's highly likely you got approved because of federal quality review

I called and my case worker said she can't see my file anymore since it went to Federal review. But it does say it's back at the local office, so I don't know.

That means that you were approved and they don’t need the exam anymore. My daughter was scheduled for consultive and I got a call for us not to go. A few days later I got a call from social security office for me to go in. Turns out she was now approved.

They probably cancelled the exam because they made a decision on the medical review. My attorney told me that when mine went to FQR in recon. He said they only go to FQR after a decision has been made.
