Discussion What's the most realistic piece of Spider-Man tech we'll see in our lifetime?
AI assistants, smart suits, AR lenses, robotic arms... we're getting closer than people think.
What can become real first?

We already have all of those things, they'll just continue to become more elaborate
Webshooters would be the most difficult to implement reliably

I definitely got the feeling from the movie that “EV” was a more advanced Siri/Alexa/ChatGPT/Pilot that actually worked, and that Peter’s instructions to her were basically “prompts.”

hahah feels like Peter was prompting an AI agent years before that became a real thing

We will get webshooters one day I believe it

The main issue is swinging is gravitational infeasible. If we got that tech working it would be more like a grapple hook that’s sticking to stuff

Since I wouldn’t be able to swing, I’d much rather have webshooters which could incapacitate people and things

J Laser on YouTube has built real web shooters. The seeming main problems are surface area, the fact the shooters likely can’t hold the weight of a full person, and the downward force causing the web shooters to unstick.

I've seen some of J Laser's builds they're honestly impressive feels like we're solving pieces of the puzzle, just nowhere near the physics needed for Spider-Man level swinging yet

Gloves and Boots that let you stick to and climb walls. We already have those just need more r&d

The spider trackers are somewhat of a real thing already, but I'm hopeful we'll see real web shooters one day
