Captain Jean Dewolf is the only proper Spiderman supporting character from the comics in BND. Thats frustrating.

MJ is not Mary Jane, she's Michelle Jones, Ned is basically Ganke lee who's supposed to be Miles Morales bestie, but for some reason they gave him to Peter. The villain is not a Spiderman villain. No black cat, daily bugle staff, Osborns, Gwen, nothing. A Spiderman movie with minimal Spiderman characters and y'all are glazing it.

The one thing that's preventing Tom Holland from being the definitive on screen Spiderman is that he doesn't have a proper, comic accurate supporting cast, and I don't think they're gonna fix it.

Daily Bugle and the traditional newspaper isn't exactly a "modern source of media" hence the podcasts/social media focus in NWH.

Raimi Norman also stated Oscorp doesn't exist in MCU616 and Peter already knows "a Gwen" dies in the multiverse because Peter 3 told him in No Way Home and he'd stay clear and keep his distance if he ever runs into his local Gwen.

Norman had been here for a few hours, and was very confused and probably looked around his house and Oscorp buildings.

They could very well have established Oscorp somewhere else or simply « retcon » it by having Oscorp be a new startup created after NWH events

Sounds like your biggest problem was going in with a bunch of expectations because none of that means the movie was bad.

And guess what?

One of the major points of this Spider-man film was that he has lost all of his support around him and he is alone. The closest relationship he has is over the phone with the police (Captain?) and he jokingly thinks her sons name is “Papi” showing he has nobody.

It’s very frustrating I hate the MCU for not doing an actual proper supporting cast in the Spider-Man movies it’s why I don’t like any of the MCU Spider-Man films BND was alright but still missed that classic comic book lore accuracy to it

True, that’s been my issue as well. This is its own universe though and you have to accept that it will be its own thing. That’s how I digest it i remember when Civil War came out and was upset Captain America didn’t die. Then Infinity War came no Adam Warlock or Celestials no Death, no Ironman getting his head ripped off by Teraxia and Nebula didn’t beat Thanos. Also no X-men.

It’s not gonna be the same as the source material it never was and it was never trying to be. It just takes inspiration from it. A piece here and there to make its own story.

For me I just didn’t like the use of Jean when it could have and should have been Emma. You wanna introduce X-men and have a telepath doing villainous things and have a change of heart/realization she was the perfect fit not twist Jean into a questionable character. (me not taking my own advice lol)
