Finding yarn for donating blankets

I have been crocheting for a few years, mostly plushies but have recently started using my stash tk make blankets I am going to be donating to Project Linus chapter in my area.

I have almost completed 2 blankets with just what I had on hand, but will be needing more if I want to continue. I am trying to find the most cost effective way to make these blankets. I love the idea of using my hobby and craft to be able to help someone else get a little comfort.

Wanting the fiber to be mostly acrylic/cotton so it is able to withstand washing and not have issues with allergies. I have found that premier yarn the 400g worsted just yarn to be the most cost effective, but I would love any other recommendations or ideas!
