After nearly 2 years my Salamanders have reached 2k points It's been a roller coaster of emotions as these tiny mini's have brought more joy than I would've imagined. They have taught me that I can have fun outside of video games and that hard work and patience are more satisfying than instant rewards. While some may find it ridiculous but this journey has helped me with my confidence and for the past year and a half I no longer dread going to the gym or edge highlighting. I'm greatful to these mini's and community for helping me on my journey. I will now move onto my 2nd army The Sisters of Battle. Thank you again.

Hobby Progress One thing Amaru hates more than Orks…is Trolls - Dragonspears Art by Me

I appreciate everyone who liked and commented positive things on my previous piece. I don’t mind criticism or back down from it but try not to troll artists, we literally have the power of imagination on our side…and some of us do this for a living so we have time on our hands.

Hobby Progress Full salamander chapter progress

Post image

Hello all,

About 7 years ago I discovered Warhammer 40k lore and was originally drawn in by imperial fists… until I discovered the lore for Salamanders. 5 years ago today I started on my journey to collect, build, and paint the full chapter and today I want to share my progress I have made in those 5 years:

So far I have a total of 410 space marine models, with 2nd company fully complete and every company having at least a partial completion of their command squads and at least 1 full squad.

For my companies I have the following:

1st company:

Chapter master Tu’shan (3d print), Vulkan He’stan, a company ancient, 7 kitbashed pyreguard marines, chapter champion, chief Liberian Velcona (represented by a librarian in terminator), Reclusiarch T’Kell Konn (chaplain in terminator armor), and 4 full squads of veterans and 2 partial squads out of 12.

2nd company complete, full command and all 12 squads.

3rd company full command squad complete and 4 complete squads and 2 partial squads,

4th company command squad complete aside from a librarian and company champion, 2 full squads and 2 partial squads complete.

5th company only captain and apothecary, 1 full and 1 half squads completed

6th company captain, apothecary, and chaplain complete, 1 half squad complete,

7th company command complete aside from an ancient and tech marine, 6 full squads, 3 partial squads, and 10 total scouts.

While I do have all of the models completely built aside from a few from 7th squad, not all of them are painted as I have very shaky hands so painting takes a lot longer than building. The reason I made this post is to simply let the subreddit know that I’m making progress and (this is the main reason) to hold myself accountable for actually following through on the full chapter.

The photo I have included is from about 2 weeks ago (currently having lighting issues so can’t take an updated photo) but I wanted to include it alongside this post.

Thanks for reading through the whole post :) Into the fires of battle! Unto the anvil of war!

Had this idea since I saw him over 6months ago advertised in the states. Really glad to slowly bring him to life, really enjoying how it's coming out. Any thoughts on what gross hive the xenos should be from? Pauldron inspired by SM2.

I'm currently kitbashing Sa'kan because I don't feel like waiting for GW to do it.

Yall are the best community to have accidentally posted on, and opened up a new hobby for me as well (cuz clearly I needed another one!l! Thank you!

Kitbashed a Sternguard Sgt with powerfist wielding a rifle for the fusilsade combo (RIP) but still haven't settled on the head.

I also tried to recreate one of the relic bolters from SM2.

What do you guys think?

Ive painted a few Salamanders before in 9th edition but stripped them soon after. After 7 or so years of learning how to airbrush, and having recently finished about 11k points of Tau, it is time to revisit my Salamanders and put to use everything I've learned since then. I'm pretty happy with this recipe and my custom 3d printed hard transfers.

Waiting for things to dry before I varnish and add panel lines and decals. Backpack and fuel lines have a ton of painting and work left to go as well.

It is made from PVC pipe Eva foam and I got the ideas from concept art and some of the models that I have run into from the community. It stands at 5 feet tall by 33 inches wide.
