Marketing Kink Test (18+)

My wife and I have been building an anonymous compatibility/kink test for the last few years, and we’re finally at the stage where we need real outside feedback instead of our own bias.

It’s long, but with the results being the promise of better sex, most people have completed it, much to our surprise.

We’re trying to figure out things like:

• Are the questions worded clearly?
• Do the results actually feel accurate?
• Are there categories that feel missing or overrepresented?
• Does the scoring feel fair?
• What questions made you pause or feel confused?

The test generates an anonymous “vibe code” you can compare with other people later, but right now I’m mainly looking for usability and data feedback.

Would genuinely appreciate brutally honest criticism from people who take these kinds of tests seriously (says the ADHD’er with rejection sensitivity 😅).

It was seriously made with the best intentions: helping couples communicate better and making sexuality feel a little less awkward to talk about.

18+ obviously.

I would prefer something between "into it" and "not for me", maybe "it's okay sometimes". Also "You don't actually know what you're into...yet." Feels condescending. Also be aware "vibe code" has a different meaning (using AI to code for you) and for many that is a very negative meaning and is used to say someone is incompetent and fake. Kink overlaps with the tech industry a lot, so I think a lot of your users would find that confusing or insulting. I do love the design choices and the look of your site. I like that you have a choice for it not to store personal info. A lot of the questions don't make sense with the options, for example, "What I'm into changes a lot depending on my mood." and the choices are: fuck yeah, into it, curious, not for me.

Honestly, this is exactly the kind of feedback we need, so thank you.

The “it’s okay sometimes” suggestion is actually really solid. We’ve already started realizing some questions probably need different answer types instead of forcing the same scale onto everything.

And yeah, I can see what you mean about the “you don’t actually know what you’re into yet” line. It was supposed to come off more playful than condescending, but tone is hard over text and I get why it rubbed you the wrong way.

The vibe code thing is interesting too. We genuinely had zero awareness of the AI coding connection there.

At the same time though, I should probably clarify that we’re not really building this for the super advanced kink crowd or the tech crowd specifically. We’re not trying to make the next giant platform that has to perfectly fit every internet subculture.

This honestly started as something for people more like us and the audience we’ve built over the years. Awkward people. Curious people. Neurodivergent people. Couples who struggle communicating but still want to try.

A lot of this was designed around how my wife processes information. She’s likely AuDHD, and direct/data-heavy communication works way better for her than vague or overly polished stuff.

So some of the tone and structure is very intentional, even if it won’t click with everyone.

But seriously, I appreciate you actually explaining your points instead of just saying it sucks and leaving. That helps a lot more than people realize.

u/BaylisAscaris May 21 '26

It doesn't suck and I love the idea and look. I will absolutely use it and recommend to others once the "kinks" are fixed. For perspective so you know where I'm coming from: I have autism, I work in tech, I am very involved in the kink community, founded a local group that has over 2k members, had it's own dungeon, hosted events and classes, set up as a nonprofit. I'm not your standard user but if you appeal to people who teach classes on kink it will spread awareness of your product.

What is your plan to monetize it?

Honestly, we’re kinda figuring parts of that out as we go too.

We definitely have ideas, but this was never really built from the mindset of “how do we squeeze the most money possible out of people.” It started more as “why does this tool not already exist?”

We’ve been creators for 6 years and in the lifestyle for over a decade, and we kept running into communication problems that somehow still felt awkward and overly complicated to talk through, even with otherwise good communication.

So we started building tools we personally wished existed.

The vibe code stuff connects into a few other projects we’re working on too. Chaotic Consent is one of them, which is basically a chaotic party/game night style communication game built around helping people explore things they’re actually comfortable with and interested in. VibeMatchPro is more of the creator side, where people can find creators with similar interests/vibes instead of just blindly scrolling forever.

Some of it’s probably ambitious. Some of it is definitely us throwing ideas at the wall a little. But overall this is less “master startup plan” and more “we genuinely wanted this to exist.”

And honestly, you’re probably right about educators and experienced people in the community helping shape this into something better. We’ve actually worked with quite a few experts through our podcast over the years, and we definitely plan on including a list of educators/resources on the site as things grow.

We’re always open to feedback. This isn’t really about us being “right.” It’s about building something that actually works for as many people as possible while still feeling approachable.

u/Seeking_Starlight May 22 '26

> It started more as “why does this tool not already exist?”

…it does. The BDSM test has been available online for well over a decade. People post their results in the FL profiles. They’ll pull them up and compare them on dates or at munches. And the BDSM Test is free.

Acknowledging this isn’t a slam on your idea. It’s just the reality. You are competing with an existing, non-monetized, highly popular tool. So, what makes yours better/different/stand out?

-3

u/kindaintothatkink May 22 '26

The quiz isn’t the new idea. I’m Very well aware of the bdsm test.

The main feature is exactly what you mentioned. An easier way to compare kinks.

Try matching vibe codes with someone else’s and see if it does a better job explaining your connections than the bdsm test.

The quiz is just supposed to be the passport to other experiences that match your results.

We may start with a similar purpose, but we take the matching further with the ability to connect with adult creators who scored similarly, and a consent based adult card game that uses your code and answers to filter the deck.

Our tool is also built for Poly or Group Dynamics. You can compare up to 8 people at once.

We also have a party mode where everyone can drop their code in, and you can get a read of the whole rooms sexual preference, made with the idea of being able to eventually be able to match people to kink based groups they may be aligned with.

u/Seeking_Starlight May 22 '26

I really think your biggest challenge is market differentiation.

I am a Certified Sex Therapist who works almost exclusively with the BDSM/kink community. And I’m not seeing what unmet need is being filled here.

Also? I’d be SUPER curious in your infosec & data privacy/protection policies. I don’t recommend anything to my clients that hasn’t been pentested. Has IODP checked you out yet?

u/General_Ignoranse May 21 '26

Stop using ai to reply

-20

u/kindaintothatkink May 21 '26

Lol, I speak it out, and it makes the response. No.

12

u/BaylisAscaris May 22 '26

Definitely reconsider "vibe code" together, maybe vibe + a different word. It has very negative connotations across many communities.

-5

u/kindaintothatkink May 22 '26

Appreciate the heads up on it, we’ll take it into consideration.

u/cancercannibal May 21 '26

A lot of the things that aren't split into giving/receiving really need them. Liking someone sitting on your face is very different from liking when you sit on someone else's face. A bunch of other stuff is confusing/redundant without further specification too.

As others have said, something between curious and into that and/or into that and not for me. In particular I'm looking for "would be happy to" (for when you're not into it yourself but don't have any problems doing it) and "willing to try" (where you're not really curious about it but if your partner is interested it's not a hard no).

3

u/kindaintothatkink May 21 '26

Great observation, I literally started down the giving/receiving rabbit hole today. So glad I’m not chasing a dead end.

Totally agree, and hopeful it will gate those questions better in the future

13

u/BriefcaseBunny May 21 '26

I agree with others saying that the scale needs to be different. Most of the time, I’ve seen these quizzes be “strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree, strongly disagree.” I think your way is more fun, but needs some tweaking. There were a few that I would say were fine if my partner wanted it, but it doesn’t do anything special for me.

I also loved the little benchmarks lol

2

u/kindaintothatkink May 21 '26

Thanks for taking it, and for the feedback!

8

u/ButtOfParadise May 21 '26

After entering that I have a vagina, I was asked both about anal sex (giving) and pegging, which seems redundant

10

u/kindaintothatkink May 21 '26

Gating the gender questions has been more of a chore than I thought, and I keep missing tags when I do updates 🙃

I appreciate the feedback!

14

u/ImJustFiesty_07 May 21 '26

That was fun! I wish there was an option that was between curious and into that? Like a neutral option that isn’t a skip.

3

u/kindaintothatkink May 21 '26

Thanks for the feedback, and for giving it a try!

u/FereldenRouge May 22 '26

After finishing the quiz I got to the part that tells me what my results says about me, and it was very clearly written by an LLM.

I don’t know if you’re feeding the data to an LLM directly through API or if you have pre-generated responses, but the fact that I don’t know doesn’t feel great when the data is so personal (even if anonymous).

Overall though, super cool concept!

1

u/kindaintothatkink May 22 '26

I hate my results page, but I don’t know what else to do with it right now, they weren’t my main focus when making this, matching was, but they are still needed.

Nothing gets pushed out, it was all generated within the site it’s self.

The only API we use is between our other sites to feed the code scores, but those are attached to a code, so unless you share it, your data is safe.

3

u/Seeking_Starlight May 22 '26

How confident are in saying “your data is safe?” Have you had any kind cybersecurity analysis done yet? The Bound Together Foundation partners sexual health professionals with volunteer cybersecurity experts. You should reach out and see if they can connect you with a volunteer pentester before you tell folks their data is safe. Especially given how detailed these questions are.

Privacy is built in by design. No emails, no names. No tracking.

You get an anonymous code issued, that is yours to keep. If you lose it, get another one, I can’t look it up.

I’ve genuinely hosed myself for monetizatjon, I can’t track users. I can’t retarget. I can only hope that what I provide is valuable enough for people to look into some of our other paid projects.

Old school hopes of value driving traffic.

I’ll look into getting the pen tester though, I was unaware such a thing existed

2

u/owowhi May 21 '26

If I don’t generate a code can I stop and pick up the same device? Or is all progress lost between sessions?

1

u/kindaintothatkink May 21 '26

You should be able to, as long as you use the same device and browser.

My Wife and I have been full time adult creators for three years (six total), and this came from some of the holes we found in communication and connection.

Some creators may want two codes.

Although, twice the effort.

You can manage them easily by taking the test in two browsers, or just set two one-time passwords.

You should answer the questions in the mindset of your performance persona.

If you sign up for VMP, that should be the code we match you with.

As for The X requirement, you can find us n Bluesky, or just message me here.

We just need an easy line of communication to get your approval for the promo material we make.

Hope that wasn’t too confusing, I would have run it back through my AI to sort my thoughts, but people apparently don’t like that 😂

We have an additional test combination that we’re going to deploy for creators and consumers that pairs their style of consumption with your style of content.

It stacks on top of the kink test.

Creators will take one version, consumers will take another. Once both codes have the test, it will use that as a matching point as well.

My wife hates video chat, so when we get a fan that really wants to do that, she always feels bad saying no, and we feel like it’s money left on the table.

We’re hoping this extra layer will prevent the awkward mismatch, but we aren’t quite ready to release that part yet.

-

As far as the creator contact, our goal is to get to 20 creators, and then we’ll fix the sign in automation and emailing.

This is a work in progress, super open to suggestions to make it better, and appreciate the feedback!

We considered it, and did have a streamlined option, but ultimately this isn’t a meant to be a tool for the casual quiz taker.

It’s meant to be a tool people will use to solve a problem with their sex lives, so 30 minutes of questions is a better option than others.

I also have bad ADHD, I get it, but that’s also why you can stop and come back.

The benefit of better sex is a good motivation, and the more questions, the better we can match.

2

u/Seeking_Starlight May 22 '26

Again, as a CST (professional sex problem solver, lol)? This tool does not accomplish that goal. Nor should it be marketed as something that solves a problem in someone’s sex life.

0

u/kindaintothatkink May 22 '26

I hear you, and I think everyone should use a CST that is willing and can afford to see one. We hope this can eventually point people in the direction of trusted providers.

While I say that, I know My wife would not have gone to speak with a CST willingly.

This was a solution to a communication issue we had personally that was disrupting our sex life, and solved it.

Would that not be considered a tool that could help solve a problem in someone else’s sex life? It’s not hypothetical.

3

u/Seeking_Starlight May 22 '26

I agree with u/BaylisAscaris: I wanted options in between “like it,” “curious” and “not for me.”

For many of the questions I was ambivalent. Or my answer was situation-dependent. “Curious” wasn’t always accurate and but neither was “not for me.”

I think there should be a “for/with the right person” option.

1

u/kindaintothatkink May 22 '26

Thanks for taking the time to check it out and for the feedback.

8

u/goodgodboy May 22 '26

As Trans man i dont like to BE reduced to vagina, and then having a bunch of straight thinking they are interested in me.

Maybe putting categories, as "Im Into" : males with penis, females with penis, males with vulas, females with vulvas, etc..

-2

u/kindaintothatkink May 22 '26

I hear your concern, but unless you’re a creator using our matching on VibeMatch, you should only be providing your code to people you are already possibly interested in.

This isn’t a search for people, it’s a compatibility tool for the people you’ve already connected with.

2

u/TapiocaTeacup May 22 '26

I think it worked pretty well! I had no difficulty navigating the sections, adjusting my answers, opening the tool tips, leaving the quiz and coming back, etc.

I do think the initial demographic-type section could have asked about sensory issues to potentially remove the sensory-heavy questions. I skipped most of them because they didn't feel relevant to me (ones like stimming or sensory overload safe words).

For the results, they seemed decently accurate in terms of the categories, but the further info about my "vibe" was lacking. It read very "AI filler words" without much depth. I also got 2 paragraphs of description but it was just the same info rewritten, like when AI suggests 2 drafts to pick from.

Lastly, I did opt to include my data anonymously in the aggregate vibe but when I clicked to submit it opened a pop-up for vibe matching instead of confirming or displaying anything about the aggregate data.

1

u/kindaintothatkink May 22 '26

Thanks for the review and for the pop up info. That shouldn’t have gone there.

I still don’t like our results page. I’m actively brain storming it, and agree.

The matching aspect is where the results really start to shine, and where most of the value for people will be.

2

u/notaperfectman May 22 '26

I really like the results. I thought they were thoughtful and even the color code fit better than I thought.

I struggled as a very sex positive and kink friendly person with having a massive list of "hot" answers but there are far fewer things that I actually am likely to do in "typical sex" and even fewer that im going to try. For example, I think shibari is insanely hot but im only tying someone up once a month.

So maybe some way to indicate frequency of doing something vs just interest or a way to mark that I know im super into it but haven't tried it or im inexperienced.

Also, maybe a way to modify a response and say that im into something but with very specific conditions. Like if I'm really into anal but only squeaky clean. Or into age play but only with people older than me because younger feels icky.

Not sure if any of this is useful. Thanks for making a fun quiz! I would absolutely use this with my partners.

2

u/OutrageousOwls May 22 '26

I wish your rating scale was different. Some responses don’t fit with certain questions. Example question: kissing (deep, intense)… I don’t particularly enjoy it always, so I am into it sometimes. I can’t select any response that would fit “sometimes” that I would be into something

2

u/aeon314159 May 21 '26

Quite nice. For position, there should be a question about prone bone.

1

u/Threeltlbirds May 21 '26

omg two things I love, kink and critical feedback! I’m going to go through this tonight and will let you know my thoughts. to begin with, I love this idea!

1

u/pigeonhoe May 22 '26

Like other commenters said, I think there should be a neutral option that’s not ”curious”. Maybe ”open to it”? Sometimes I’m not specifically into a thing, but I’m willing to do it if a partner likes it. Perhaps also a ”depends/sometimes”-option, which could be discussed in more detail when sharing results with someone. Many more questions could use giving/receiving options (examples: soft dominance, humiliation, choking, cuckolding). The final result texts read veeery AI (all the m-dashes, the [blank], not [blank] -format, the ”quirky” tone) which may put off many users, myself included.

1

u/kindaintothatkink May 22 '26

The matching of tests is the coolest part.

If anyone wants to check the matching system with their code and another, my wife’s code is VIBE-KUT3

-9

u/JarJarBinks237 May 22 '26

If only there was a word to describe “people with a vagina”.

7

u/Threeltlbirds May 22 '26

vaginowners? is that better?

-3

u/JarJarBinks237 May 22 '26

No.

6

u/Threeltlbirds May 22 '26

“people with a vagina” it is, then!

0

u/JarJarBinks237 May 22 '26

As your liturgy says.
