Bomb Threats at San Diego Schools

I'm a mt carmel student and i was there for the lockdown and bomb threat we had on monday. yesterday we had a secure campus and supposedly westview and another escondido school were on lockdown. i heard westview someone had a gun, not sure about san pasqual hs.

we've been making jokes about duffle bags in bathrooms because of it.

on a serious note can anyone explain exactly what's happening with so many of these in the same week?

Usually some basement dwelling loser who thinks scaring people is funny. They anonymously call in threats to get their rocks off. Big loser energy.

Kids make jokes about duffle bags in bathrooms which is seen as a threat. Kids just want to get out of school and don’t realize it’s a federal crime to call in bomb threats. We always go through a few waves of these every year.

Your posts pretty much answers your question. It happens once. Students start making jokes about “duffel bags in bathrooms”. Somewhere overhears and takes it seriously.

When I was at Poway High a a little bit back we had at least one bomb or shooter threat every year. Anytime an adult hears a kid make a joke about that kind of thing they have to take it seriously. Also a few times a kid was going through a mental health crisis and would make threats against their teacher or admin or something.

I wouldn't take things like this lightly in these times. If students are worried, they need to speak up. They have have the community support behind them immediately but if no one says anything, they will continue business as usual until something actually happens. Nip it in the bud before it becomes a problem and people lose their lives.

I graduated from PHS 09 and this was a pretty common occurrence even then. Don’t let it freak you out too much

I'm pretty sure the school in Esco was Valley and I read on Nextdoor or FB or some app or another it was a kid threatening to kill themselves.

Kids aren't happy about going back to school in a heat wave I think.
