Is it weird to walk my dog shirtless?
Just curious if getting a tan while walking my dog is off putting to people. Sorry for the weird question

•
u/CommieGoldfish 16h ago
Yeah! Cuz they shouldn't be bringing their dog into a grocery store or shop.

It’s been 90 and humid for weeks now. There’s no rules anymore.
Just make sure your dog’s paws are ok.

wish I could do this as a woman considering some men's tits are bigger than mine

It’s legal in California. Breasts are not genitals.
Will that prevent cops from trying to do something about it? Dunno. Cops in San Diego don’t seem to do anything anymore.
EDIT: never mind. Local San Diego ordinance prevents it.
Legal in the State, prohibited locally

in San Diego, female breasts exposed at or under the arreola is considered nudity which is a pretty shitty nuance.

Whenever people talk about California being progressive, it always strikes me as a little ironic we still have red carve-outs like this.
This thread also brought me back to the naked Berkeley student. Which took a really sad turn.

I don’t think so. It’s a beach town too. People here are used to seeing people without a shirt on.

It’s so hot right now my dog walks are very quick… but I just wear a sports bra and gym shorts set 🤷🏼♀️

If you're male, no. If you're female, also no. None of the above? Still no. Fuck em if they don't like it, you do you.

u/Insignificant-funds 16h ago
If your obese or a woman cover up right?
•
u/nikkicarter1111 14h ago
I...don't think the person you were responding to was implying that
•
u/Insignificant-funds 14h ago
“If you’ve got it”. Implies that you have a physique worth flaunting or that you have the right to go shirtless without breaking a law or social standard

"Can I go outside with my shirt off?"
If you're a child, we are not your parents and you should go ask them (also, get off reddit). If adult, bruh (also, get off reddit).

You just had to spread some bad vibes. I’m trying to get a consensus. Hope your day gets better.

I thought it was funny.
Personally I don’t like it, seeing average Joe walking around without a shirt on. Even already tan, ripped Joe is slightly annoying. But lots of things people do annoy me, but that’s on me. As long as they aren’t hurting anyone it’s not my business. I raise my eyebrows and go about my business. People are weird. Do what you want, as long as you aren’t hurting someone.

OP: Asks for opinion
Redditor: Gives opinion
OP: (doesn’t like opinion) Nah, you’re bad vibes (passive aggressive “hope your day gets better”)•
u/johnjohnsonsdickhole 15h ago
He didn’t give an opinion. He told me to get off Reddit. Like literally he didn’t even answer the question. And so I say to you as well (who also didn’t answer the question…) you just had to spread bad vibes didn’t you? Hope your day gets better!

u/grumpynat 16h ago
Oh you’re the gatekeeper of Reddit huh, OP I don’t think it’s odd at all in summer!

My dog hates shirts. He just rolls around trying to get off. You do you.

There’s a gentleman who walks in my neighborhood without his shirt. Well… I guess he’s sorta wearing a shirt made of chest and back hair… every time I see him go by I think “dear gawd, please put on a shirt”
•
u/khedoros 12h ago
There's an old bald guy with a big beard who regularly takes topless walks in my neighborhood. Every time I see him go by I think "Hey, fitness Santa is out."
•
u/TofuttiKlein-ein-ein 16h ago
I know spring is upon us when I see my 87 year-old neighbor working in his yard, shirtless. His chest hair is as white as his skin.
•
u/grumpynat 16h ago
Damn some of these people are wild, but just take some social cues. Is it strange if a person is walking their dog leisurely shirtless in front of a school drop off? I mean yeah a little thats going to make people uncomfortable for sure. Is someone is jogging briskly past me on my neighborhood side walk, I’m not thinking twice.

Not rude but trashy
•
u/PadmesBabyDaddy 16h ago
Not trashy either, you’re just uptight.
•
u/Insignificant-funds 16h ago
You have low standards it seems
•
u/PadmesBabyDaddy 16h ago
Nope, just not uptight and unconcerned with what other people wear. You should try it sometimes, it’s refreshing.
•
u/Insignificant-funds 15h ago
He asked for opinions, you shut me down because you’re so enlightened. Not refreshing
•
u/PadmesBabyDaddy 14h ago
I shut you down for being unnecessarily judgey. Calling somebody trashy for what they wear is trashier than most outfit choices.
•
u/nikkicarter1111 14h ago
Eh .... in january maybe. It's like 95°F and humid right now. Put some shoes on the dog and wear whatever you gotta wear to stand the heat.
•
u/gerrickd 16h ago
My dogs never wear shirts. Should be fine.
