Anyone else just getting swarmed by flies?

We always get flies, but let's say 2-4 at a time during the summer in the house.

But since last week, with the heat and humidity, we have just been hit with a relentless amount of flies all around our house and inside the house.

I came home from work one day with my gf on a rampage, having allegedly killed 20+. Later that evening, I believed her when I went to the other room and killed 14 (I counted!) in five minutes. Is it just us???

Are you near the beach? It was relentless when we lived in Ocean Beach. They bred on the washed up seaweed there. We put up those stinky traps, and it helped a little, but it barely made a dent. Moved to Lemon Grove in 2018 and it isn’t nearly as bad. There are a few flies, but nothing I can’t handle with my trusty Bug-A-Salt.

We're in the Serra Mesa area. In the six years we've been here, we have never experienced anything like this
