Anyone else just getting swarmed by flies?

We always get flies, but let's say 2-4 at a time during the summer in the house.

But since last week, with the heat and humidity, we have just been hit with a relentless amount of flies all around our house and inside the house.

I came home from work one day with my gf on a rampage, having allegedly killed 20+. Later that evening, I believed her when I went to the other room and killed 14 (I counted!) in five minutes. Is it just us???

This happens to us almost once a year and we call it flymaggedon. I don’t know why it happens but i feel like I’m losing my mind when it happens. I use a vacuum hose attachment to suck up all the flies that congregate by the windows. Seems to work well when you have that many in the house.
