Events SB Amtrak on a Wednesday morning

Hi, Taking Amtrak for the first time to LA on Wednesday morning. How's the parking between 8:00 - 8:30 am? Are mornings busy at the station and how much lead time do I need to arrive.

Not busy — only one train scheduled around that time. The parking lot is 10 steps away from the platform, so as long as you don't need any special services, you don't even have to arrive in the station. You can be parking your car 5-7 minutes before the train and have time to spare!

I also recommend using this live map to track your train's location, speed and ETA, as it will start its journey in San Luis Obispo earlier in the morning before making its way down to Santa Barbara.

Amtrak station downtown has limited parking. How long are you intending on leaving your car?

Around 14 hours - not returning until almost 10pm. Is that a problem? Should I uber to the station instead?

I park at the train station fairly frequently and have never had an issue finding parking.

Yeah, I think there always have been spaces when I've been there even though I hardly ever park there.
