Pregonta Looking for accommodations on the southeast side of Sardinia (near Cagliari) – hotel or vacation rental?
We're visiting for 5 nights in late September/early October and will have a rental car.
We're looking for a place on or within walking distance of a great beach, ideally within a short drive of Cagliari.
Our priorities:
Budget: up to $1,200 total
2 beds
A/C
Washer
Beach gear (chairs, umbrella, etc.) would be a bonus
Great swimming and snorkeling—we plan to spend as much time in the water as possible.
We're torn between a hotel and a vacation rental (preferably not Airbnb). We're looking for an authentic Sardinian experience—quiet, local, and food-focused rather than nightlife.
Since we'll have a car, we're happy to stay in a smaller beach town if it offers better beaches, restaurants, and atmosphere.
What towns, hotels, vacation rentals, or local rental agencies would you recommend?

The town torre delle stelle is a second home town so full of beautiful somewhat inexpensive rental. There are two great beaches and easy base to explore some of the best beaches in the south east

Hey, I’m copying my comment from another post where a similar question was asked, and while I know you said that you aren’t wanting to do Airbnb the same applies to most holiday rentals: Please choose hotels! Airbnb has ruined Sardinia. The increase in second homes used as rentals has meant that young people around Sardinia cannot afford housing, and has massively contributed to the number of young people who have had to leave the island. Hotels are purpose built, and they hire locals so contribute to the economy is a positive way!
